November 4, 200817 yr For the past 17 elections, if the Redskins had won their last home game before the election day, the popular vote winner for the past election wins the president race. Redskins would say a McCain win. Steelers win says a Obama victory.
November 4, 200817 yr You call it a sign that Obama is going to win, I call it a sign that the country is full of a bunch of naive people who have been hoodwinked.

November 4, 200817 yr You call it a sign that Obama is going to win, I call it a sign that the country is full of a bunch of naive people who have been hoodwinked. Ever think that some people might honestly feel like Obama would make a better President? Maybe they have done their research, and still feel that way. Maybe it's the McCain supporters who have been "hoodwinked".
November 4, 200817 yr The surest sign of all. I saw those four guys on the horizon when I awoke this morning, too.

November 4, 200817 yr I thought it didn't hold true the last election. It didnt. It's the only time it didn't work. Redskins lost. Bush won.

Maybe it's the McCain supporters who have been "hoodwinked". I believe that the American people are so desperate for change, and Obama has done a masterful job at linking his name with that change. However, if you really look at what he is planning to do (not rumored, but actually what he has said and proposed), I am shocked that he leads in the polls. It proves to me that so many people are so desperate for change. - Raising capital gains taxes (How will that increase investment?) - Reinstating the inheritance tax (Let's force more family owned farms and businesses to have to sell, what a marvelous idea! It is back to double taxation as the owner already was taxed on the income to build that farm/business.) - Increasing taxes on businesses (That will help create more domestic jobs?) - Signing in to law the Freedom of Choice act (abortion on demand at any time during pregnancy, no parental notification above the age of 13, partial government funding, etc) - Increasing coal fired electric generation taxes to the point that new plants would be 'taxed into bankruptcy and the cost of electricity would skyrocket', (how will that help the middle class and working poor?) - Increasing minimum wage by 45% within 24 months (how will this increase jobs and keep inflation down) - $900 billion in new government spending (more debt, yee ha!) No rumors, just what he actually believes and has stated/promised.
November 4, 200817 yr Maybe it's the McCain supporters who have been "hoodwinked". You'd have to talk to them about that....
