Pistons get instant scoring from Iverson, who can drive it inside, or shoot from the outside, and it'll get more looks for Wallace and Hamilton. And if you really want to know this deal was done as a plan to open up cap room for Lebron James.

November 4, 200817 yr Are you guys serious? Detroit wasn't winning a title this year. Even if they were to, Iverson is a step up from Billups. It is irrelevant though. They freed up so much cap-space (the 32-year old Billups is owed $36.3 million over the next three seasons; Iverson's contract expires). I may be wrong, but I believe 'Sheed's contract ends at the end of this year. This gives them the ability to develop their young players (Johnson, Maxielle, Affalo), as well as money to sign a big free-agent and sign quality draft picks.
