I accidentally omitted Bart Lennox, he is very good, a professional in every aspect of the word. I also am a fan of Ken Catron, he works the floor, communictaes with the players and coaches, very good!

 

Joe Thompson and John Chamberlain are as good as there EVER has been. Both men were and are CLASS acts on and off the court. Both are missed in the 10th/11th!

 

I also agree about Jerry Thornsbury, he has always worked very hard at his craft and does a very good job. His son is an up-and-comer and has reffed some big games in his short career. He is being moved up the proverbial food-chain so to speak very quickly!

Kenny for a while was working alot of college games. Agree he is top notch.

I have tons of respect for Jerry. I grew up with his kids and he was always top notch on and off the court. I had a few rounds with him when coaching freshman ball, but he always stuck around after the game to explain why he made the call (or didn't) the way he did.

I'll take Cornbread in the 8th...:lol::lol: Sarcasm in case you can't tell but for real, Coldiron always did a great job. I enjoyed playing when he was officiating. Anyone know offhand how many times he's worked the sweet 16?

I think Terry worked 5 years in a row, this past season he did not go...I heard Larry Boucher did not want the same officials every year? I do not agree with that...as a thread from last year, I think you send the BEST to the tourney, so what if they have been there for years! Nonetheless, I'm ready for the hardwood! TOSS IT UP!!

The really good officials are the ones that are invisible during the game. I like David Swift in the 7th.

I dont think the same officials should go every year. Maybe 2 in a row and give some others a chance. Most of it is popularity anyway from what Ive been told.

As a retired referee now and been around for over 20 years and have refereed with the best in the state on more than a dozen times I can tell you we are lucky to have the BEST referees from top to bottom in the BBA working for the 2 best regions in the state. The BBA since Rick Chasteen has taken over many years ago has made it the best in the state. I will not mention names because I would forget someone, but take it from someone that has called many finals over the years the BBA is the best!

I would remove Bo Queen from this list and add the much improved Bart Lennox. Jerry Thornsbury has also been a class act through the years but I don't think son Erik is there yet. I believe Bart Lennox has collegiate aspirations so he may not be around much longer.

 

I would agree Bart Lenox is coming and going very quickly and IS one of the best, But to REMOVE Bo Queen from the list would be only your opinion. When talking to the coaches in the 10th and the 11th on who they like on the floor, his name is always mentioned. I think he has called a bunch of regional finals including three or four in a row in the Fieldhouse. Didn't work the finals last year because of Montgomery Co..:confused:

I think that's pretty obvious with the quality of games that he is on and the number of regional finals he has done in the past.

Did you read what sugardaddy said about him, he must not know about refn's all I know...

Getting back on the subject and not bashing any of these guys, I would have to say over the years watching and observing the great game of basketball, You would have to go with alot of the guys that have done Regional Championships and State Tournaments. Are these always the best the state has to offer? No probably not. But I will have to say they are close.

I'm going to add one more to your list Ol' Trojan, Michael Bray. These three are without a doubt the 3 best officials the 12th have to offer. And if I'm not mistaken I think Keith Morgan went to the 13th when the re-districting took place he's a top notch official also.
