Does anyone know how number 2 is doing for MC, it looked like he hurt his back on the pass play after Head made the tackle?

The above post are very accurate imho. This is the first time that my "football watching partner" and I have ever seen a team that was so obviously talented get beat so badly and yet give the impression that they will be a force down the road. I do disagree with the statemant about the UK recruit playing both ways. He only played defense on goal line stands and there were few of those. He did not look that tired to me at the end of the game. He tended to get a decent push and Highlands came in behind him and made the stop in the hole.

Collinsworth did not make a block on the 99 yard td.....he made 2 separate blocks 5 yards apart. I hope that some of you who did not attend the game get an opportunity to see this play. It happened 50 yards down field. Buten had been caught from behind and reversed field to pick up the block. Collinsworth blocked the first tackler and had the football sense to merely do what was necessary to to impede the tackler's progress and then he switched to the other trailing tackler and bumped him. He played a super game (and I don't toss that phrase around often) on both sides of the ball. His touchdown saving tackles on long runs were key to the shut out.

The birds do have some cleaning up to do as they were charged with numerous offensive penalties and their extra point center to holder was off the mark.

Our crowd is Beechwood-Highlands fans depending on who has the best match-up.

 

I think # 27 Clint Crawford made the last block down field to spring Buten on his 99 yard TD. It was around the MC 35 yard line. If Im wrong please correct me.

I was totally impressed by the play of the Birds last night!!

The mix of Juniors and Seniors is fun to watch,in the past it seems like our great teams have been Senior dominated but not this year.

I thought the defensive play by the Birds was as good as it gets.The Madison Central team came in with a 38 point per game avg and left Ft.Thomas with 0 . MC had alot of offensive weapons to throw at the Birds and they were able to adjust to every one of them,great job!!

I thought the Birds offense was also great with a nice combo of running and passing.The 99.99 yd pass play was a thing of beauty and proved to be the "icing on the Cake"

Halloween 1 Bluebirds 0!! I have never seen a game in which there were zero kids under the age of 14. I thought the birds looked good. But I'm taken back by the attendance.

Very impressive for Highlands to just walk all over a big 6A school like this. Highlands I think could play with anyone in the state of KY.
