It was very watchable, but it fell on hard times considering it competed against Monday Night Football and the Penn State vs. Ohio State game on Saturday. Baseball really needs to change the times of these games and they need to change when they go on. If they played the world series in teh first week of October then we'd not have to compete with football because it wouldn't be that far into it.

Get ready to witness the least watched World Series since 1994

This was a no-brainer given one of the teams struggled to fill their own stadium in September

Sorry, but a Philly/Tampa series is terrible for baseball.

The ratings will be terrible. People in the big markets, LA, Chicago, Boston, NY, none of them will be watching....It'd be a great story sure, but I'd bet the house Bud is praying for another Sox comeback.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then won't we. I don't believe it'll be the lowest in history. There are a lot of people rooting for the Rays.

Wrong.

I'll watch it but I think this series will have some of the lowest ratings for a World Series in the last 15-20 years

Ratings all come from the way media portrays it. I mean if there were media coverage of the Rays for many many years and they got hyped up and everything then we'd have a different story. The only reason people view these ratings are because of how often the Yankees, Boston, Dodgers, are always on tv. ESPN is in Connecticut I believe and they are New York, Boston biased...Not saying it's always bad but when people start talking about them and ratings and how it's good for baseball, it's just dumb.

Baseball shouldn't be about money, Boston and New York are just that, teams made from an unlimited payroll. That's not good for baseball for the simple fact that it shows that you need to spend, spend and spend in order to win and that's not true. The Rays story is a great story for baseball and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know much about baseball.

This World Series will not get low ratings and if by chance it does then it shows just how much fans have changed from loving baseball to loving media driven storylines.

Wrong.

No surprise to me. I didn't even care enough to watch more than 5 innings of the whole series. I hoped the Rays would win, and I knew it was going to be tough to watch.

This shouldn't be a real surprise. I'd say 90% of Rays "fans" hopped on sometime through the season. And the Phillies don't have a big fan base outside of Pennsylvania. Went up against MNF and a big time college game. There's two out of the 5. The last game was split up through 4 nights. So there's another. That combined with late starting times is a bad combination for ratings.

And???

Wait....When was the World Series???

And???

And...it doesn't make sense to point out otherwise unless it was disputed.

Have they already played it?

Watched every game and enjoyed it...

:thumb: I can always watch good team baseball..

And somehow my dads had the Phillies all season, even being a die-hard Cub fan.. Lost some cash to him on that bet.
