Al-Qaeda endorses McCain

They aren't going to like us either way though.:irked:

No but we need to do something to help mend our image with the rest of the world and it's a step in the right direction.

No it's not....Why should we let other countries dictate our politics?

It's war, it happens. And yes, I'm 100% okay with that. You're always going to have civilian casulties. Better their civilians than ours.

That is a terrible terrible way to look at it IMO.

We would not stand for civilian casualties here in America. If we were attacked and the attacking forces called the civilian casualties "collateral damage" and said they really meant to kill soldiers and government officials...would we be okay with that?

That's the exact mindset that got us where we are right now.

I don't understand your point. War is war, civilians are killed all the time. You're trying to act like this is something new.

That's the exact mindset that got us where we are right now.

So why even have our own government? I mean, if we're going to let other countries dictate what we do, why not just let the other world leaders vote, and what they say goes?

The opinions of other governments should be a factor but not the deciding factor in our country's decision making. This is because the actions of other countries have an effect on us?

Middle ground, anyone?

Countries that deserve our consideration, I agree. Countries like Iraq, Iran, N. Korea, etc., they don't deserve it IMO.

Agreed. And even moreso for terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda.

Although I doubt this is your position, but the way that you portray it is that we should automatically do the opposite of what they say. Not sure why a lot of people come off that way, but that is the way it is perceived.

You're missing the point completely.

Obviously I want a middle ground, that should be the goal but it hasn't been in quite a while. I'm surprised the theme song from Team America hasn't been adopted as our national anthem at some point in the last 8 years...

A) If Al-Qaeda wanted Obama to win, they would publicy state that they back McCain

B) This almost sounds like more cheap politics - making up a story like this to damage McCain's team

C) Who cares what Al-Qaeda says? Are we going to allow them to control us?

No it's not....Why should we let other countries dictate our politics?

Agreed, to do so would be cowardly, and means that the terrorists truely are winning.

Ummm...everyone here does know that Al Qaeda is not a country....right?

Yep! It's the ole reverse psychology deal. It Didn't work when they backed Kerry in 04 so they're trying to reverse it. Who cares?
