October 27, 200817 yr I don't think many people believe that Al Qaeda would prefer McCain in the White House. However, it is easy for me to believe that Iranian officials are already looking forward to seeing a Carter II presidency.
October 27, 200817 yr I'm sure you don't, but I would bet things couldn't have worked any better for them with Bush.

October 27, 200817 yr Unfortunately, due to Bush's blundering into the open-ended war in Iraq, al Qaeda will be able to claim "victory" no matter what we do. If we elect McCain and remain heavily engaged in Iraq for the next 10 years, they (al Qaeda) will point to how they were able to bleed the U.S. militarily and economically. If we elect Obama and draw down our military presence in Iraq over the next year and a half, (rightly or wrongly) al Qaeda will claim they drove us out. The key mistake was putting our high tech military in a position where it could be pinned down by a rag tag band of fanatics indefinitely.

October 27, 200817 yr And they're killing lots of Americans too. :irked:Sadly that's what happens in war. Thankfully, we're killing many more of them and not the other way around.

The Surge is working and will continue to, we will win this war and it wont take 10 more years under McCain IMO. If we elect Obama, you would be correct.

October 27, 200817 yr ^You really believe more Americans have been killed than terrorists?Kind of wondering that myself.
