It's just not always that easy....if Bellevue tries to schedule too high (5A or 6A), those schools typically say no because they think it will not be a challenge to play 1A schools. I know another factor is travel, I know alot of schools have a range on how far they can travel.

Why does Bellevue schedule games like this when they aren't in their district? Outside of Beechwood and Newcath, Bellevue's schedule is very weak.

 

I'd like to see them add some games like Scott, Grant Co, Holy Cross, or even Cooper which are all bigger schools but winnable games that better prepare them for the playoffs. I just don't see why year after year their schedule is so weak when they are an above average 1A school.

 

With that said though, I like the Tigers big.

Very good points. With last year's and this year's team though, knowing most contracts are always 2 years, I'd think Eckstein would have scheduled a little tougher.

Gallatin was a very good opponent last year. Going 7-4 and hosting a playoff game seems like a good team to me. Maybe Bellevue's coach thought he was playing a Gallatin team of the same caliber. Obviously they are not, but we might have to take that into consideration.

I wasn't trying to down Bellevue or Eckstein. I just think that with them being a top 10 1A school they should play a tougher schedule rather than scheduling non district 1A schools that they're going to beat by 40-50 points.

 

I think playing Scott and Pendleton Co will be better tests for them and prepare them for the playoffs better than playing weak schools like Paris, Bracken Co, and Gallatin Co.

From the sounds of it, Gallatin might as well save there gas and stay home. Buckler is gonna have a career day on them, probably run for about 857 yds against the woeful wildcats. NOT. I think Bellevue will win, but this is not going to be a blow out game. 28-15 Bellevue.

I much rather play a team that's going to get me ready for the playoffs by exploiting some weaknesses that my team may have to work on than blow a team out by 40. Sure that's good for morale but doesn't make you a better team by any means and it shows when Bellevue plays the Beechwood's, Newcath's and good 1A schools down state.

You would say that because you most likely never played a Bellevue team.. Ask Lloyd and Beechwood who had players both injured(not dirty) or players limping or walking rather slow off the field.. Or in recent case a player being carted off after a game :flame:...

 

Bellevue wins by 3-4 scores, but shouldn't show too much. Senior Day, give it your all boys!

Very right. Gallatin was a very good 1A team last year with a running back that was tough, and actually, he was in like the top ten in NKY rushing, I believe.

Paris is decent. Bracken Co. yeah thats just a bad team to play. But Gallatin was a good team last year, and just not this year. I mean besides for 2 of the games this year Gallatin and Bracken, they have played a decent non conference schedule. So I not really sure why you act like they play a bunch of nobodys in non conference. Only two of them are only 1A as well...I can see getting rid of Bracken, however other than that. Their non conference is not that bad for a 1A school like Bellevue...

Outside of Newcath, Bellevue's non district opponents are a combined 12-31. I wouldn't exactly call that a decent non conference schedule.

Their playing teams up in class that may not be having a great record but they are up in class. It's similar to a team in a bad conference in football playing a team like Duke in football. Duke may not have the greatest record in the world, but they are in the ACC which is a decent football conference. Lloyd is a better quality opponent than the other Class A opponents (with the exception of Beechwood) for Bellevue to face. Their not going to schedule someone like Highlands or CovCath, what would the point be? It's a fine schedule for Bellevue.

I agree...Bracken is about the only team that I would consider weak on the non-conference schedule. I know Lloyd's record doesn't show it, but they are a good team that plays tough competition as well (Beechwood, LCA, etc.) Paris was expected to be decent this year, so were Newport and obviously NCC. So I really do not understand the whole weak schedule thing. Just because powerhouse names like Ryle, Highlands, CovCath, Conner, etc. aren't there people think its a weak schedule.
