Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12

Featured Replies

I agree whole-heartedly with you Cat N The Hat, what about the numerous cheap shots that the Williamsburg players were taking on Lynn Camp's players. From pulling them down, to late hits, to hitting out of bounds, to shoving in the back, to trying to take out Wagner's knees. I think that Williamsburg's players showed no class whatsoever in this game, but the refs should have ended a lot of the extra curricular stuff with some flags.

Now I can see why these two teams really do dislike each other so much.

Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12 Nuff said, anything else is an excuse. I really dont see how Williamsburg ever wins without the aid of officials....geez every week opponents get on here and gripe about the officials and yes there were blown calls...Lynn camp got a favorable 5 yards on a punt spot on the running in to the kicker call (which should have been roughing) but so what. Lynn Camp had linemen downfield on the broken punt pass, plus got a very favorable spot for a first down on the play (it was right in front of me and he was close to a yard short on forward progress) but so what. Williamsburg beat the campers at their own game. They were more physical and used Ed Lawson as a battering ram and ran the ball down the Campers throat. It was a hard hitting, hard fought game. I wish the Campers luck in the playoffs, and wish the Jackets well.

Maybe if the Jackets make a good playoff run Coach Herron and his staff and this team will get a bit of hard earned respect. Also Williamsburg is the "little" school in the tri county...smaller enrollment.

What is the old saying, "If there is smoke, there is usually fire!" If week after week, the refs are in "favor" of the same team, then why wouldn't the other teams complain. If it happens once or twice, I could almost see your (somewhat obnoxious, nose-in-the-air) point. But if it happens week after week after week, then there might be something to it.

However, I think that whatever Williamsburg is doing, the shoudl keep doing it. If the refs aren't holding them to the same set of rules as everybody else, then why should they play by the rules. I think the blame falls on the refs.

It's not been that long ago that a team that looked a lot like Williamsburg made the same complaints against Somerset that we are seeing here now. JMO.

Everyone on each side of this game always gripes about how one side did nothing but cheap shots. And usually each team has one or two questionable hits a game, but the fans always blow it out of proportion and make things seem much worse than they actually were while turning a blind eye to what their team has done.

Wasn't a team that made any complaints. It was a couple of whinning fans. Just like in this case!

Fans whine about who was suppose to call the game: Zero Dollars

Refs get changed for the game:Zero Dollars

Fans celebrate change of refs: Zero Dollars

Fans then whine worse about the refs that did call the game: Priceless

What is Williamsburg's record vs Lynn Camp the last three years?

Well I know for a fact that the ref's for the W'burg and C-ville game are under investigation and the situation's that night.

So they beat Beechwood years ago and we both beat Frankfort years ago.

A lot has changed.

Does anyone know if LC/W'burg would be the 2nd round or 3rd?

I'm thinking LC would probably have to beat LCA and Raceland:scared: both to even think about a rematch. I am probably wrong, but I think that W'burg would play the C'ville/Fairview winner.

It's our 1 (Burg) against their 4 (Paris), and their 3 (Fairview) against our 2 (C'ville), right?

That would put their 1(Raceland) against our 4(Clinton) and their 2(LCA) against our 3 (LC).

Then the winners against winners, would keep LC and Burg away from each other until the Region?

Somebody clear this up.

No it would be a second round game.

In the past I also have picked Middlesboro over the Jackets, Pikeville over the Jackets, LC over the Jackets (a few times), Frankfort over the Jackets (this year), LCA over the Jackets (last year), etc. If you're going to pick and choose, pick some that I have picked right, too. I just went and double checked the thread on predictions between W'burg and LC for this past game (friday) and I never made a prediction either way. I did not think I had. You can go check, too. (Also, a LOT of Jackets fans were picking LC against the Jackets last year. No one knew Joe would go down early with an injury. Now you're just piling on with that one. Even the papers picked us. Get on Les, too, if you're going to go that way.)

Look I can not help that Joe got hurt last year. They came into the game healthy, and lost. Joe had 2 carries for negative 20 something yards (most of the lost yardage was because of a snap over his head that he recovered and tried to run out). Maybe if the middle of the field was not drenched things would have turned out differently for Lynn Camp, the world may never know. I do not think I am piling on with anything. I am sure you have gotten some right in the past. As far as Frankfort goes, We played them very tough this year. If not for a huge fumble that Frankfort scored on and a turnover in our own territory, Williamsburg would have won this game this year. So I guess I do not see the huge gap between Williamsburg and Frankfort that you are talking about. Look for Williamsburg to have a strong showing in the playoffs.

While you're at it, could you have them look into Roswell, Big Foot and the JFK assasination.

I remember when Corbin went to Williamsburg about 4 years ago and got beat by the Yellow Jackets. Several people I know(not Corbin fans) said they tried to tell me that it was almost impossible to beat Williamsburg and their refs. As much as I would like to have blamed it on the officiating crew that night, I didn't see anything other than a fired up Williamsburg team that was responsible for that loss.

Officials make mistakes, but they rarely determine the outcome of a game. I have found that the more I focus on the officiating, the more I think I see going against my team.

The refs are always something the losing and road teams will complain about. It seems its the same thing when we play at home. I remember in 2004, Williamsburg came into Lynn Camp a heavy heavy favorite, and LC played within a td and ha chances of winning the game. The burg fans were on here saying how it was the refs that kept that game close. The refs were bad Friday, but they were bad both ways. The two fumbles the spot on 4th down near the goal line, pass interference no call, and the when the moved the chains at the end of the quarter hurt LC. LC also got away with two pass interference no calls, a lineman down field on a punt, and late hit out of bounce. These where big plays, all around. They won, we lost, time to move on get ready for Hazard and get ready, to try to get some momentum going into the playoffs.

The were looking into why an official had to throw a Lynn Camp coach, fan or what ever he is out of the game that night. They were NOT looking into calls made during the game.
