Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12

Featured Replies

I'm not making excuses. AND both sides did get it put to them. It was equally called, badly.

As it has been said before, Les, it's not the blown calls, it's when they are called.

The 12th (phanthom) man gave W'burg the ball and the ensuing score when we should have had the ball. We had 11 on the field, we were in the right, and the Jackets got 8 points out of it.

Radio Crew said the Officials came from Harlan....I think the Jackets were better than the Wildcats. Maybe they can have a re match in a few weeks to settle the score.

At this point, I can see LC possibly done in week 1 and the Jackets gone in week 2 of the playoffs. No rematch this year.

And, nomorenoles, Persons will not be the only sore player tomorrow. A few Jackets will want some asprin in the morning.

Lawson rushed for 201 yards on 21 carries. He had four TDs.

He was a load. He's a senior, is he not?

What really surprised me was the lack of class from the Lynn Camp fans. When Ryan Moses went down at the beginning of the first quarter, I think the Lynn Camp fans cheered harder than they did the rest of the game. This is a kid we're talking about here. I understand there is some hatred between the schools, but it is ridiculous to cheer when a 17 year old goes down on a football field. Oh well though, he got up and finished the game. 3 years in a row. Ooh-rah.

When I heard yesterday that the officials was the harlan crew I told many people they are the best in the mountians. Boy I was wrong they screwed up with the penalties they did call and two very obvious fumbles..Taking nothing away from W-burg they won and rightly so.....But talk about class, did you see #78 from W-burg take the knee's out from wagner way behind the play knowing that wagner just come back from knee surgery now that is class...

Catman I have to agree with you 100%, some of those fans from Lynn Camp made that program look bad. I heard mothers using language that was way inapproiate and sure you all paid to see the game but come on now that is crazy. And like Catman said these are kids, no matter if they like each other or not, you don't tell kids to go ahead and start taking cheap shots on the opposing team. One dad ran up and down the field all night yelling at the refs threating him. Campers, I like your program, Coach Mittchell is a great coach that finds a way to win, you guys have some good athletes over at LC and not just in football and I'm sure it is tough being the "little school" in the Tri-County area, but I would hope that the fans don't ruin it for these kids. Some questionable calls on both sides of the ball, but not as bad as you all think.

These kids haven't gotten along for years. If I remember correctly the upper class men in this two schools were the ones with the bench clearing brawl in middle school where some over active parents got involved during the brawl. So tensions between these two group of kids have been high for a long time.

Why would LC's coach play Wagner knowing he just come back from knee surgery ? I wouldn't let my son play that soon after surgery. I think LC's coach was trying to take W'burg's QB out. Did any LC fans hear what LC Big Mama said when the W'burg QB went down ( break the F's arm ). W'burg had 200 yards in penalties. What was LC's total yards in penalties ? "Go Jackets"

He's been cleared to play by the medical authorities. He had surgery 7 weeks ago. What is wrong with playing him if: The Doctor says he's ok, he feels ready to play, and mom and dad say he can play?

I was there when Bargo nailed the QB. It was a good hard hit and people cheered (the hit). Yelling when he's down is another story.

(Y'all did your share of cheering when there were some good Jackets hits on us. Don't deny it. It happened. It's football.)

As far as yelling fans, it happens. It was a good night to wear your Jacket ear muffs. Apparently they filter some of the crap that was being spewed from your fan base, also, and mostly female voices there, too. I heard the same woman yell "Lynn Camp (I'll clean it up so I won't get suspended) draws in by establishing a partial vacum" and other crap all night long. (This is the cleanest part I can use.) Plus, you should have moved down to the end zone by the tents if you wanted to hear some of the Jackets fans that probably won't be in church sunday.

Yours were as bad as ours. Went both ways.

NOW, as far as David Mitchell sending kids to hurt kids intentionally, that is pure CRAP! First of all, you don't coach in the same place for 31 years with that attitude. It catches you. Secondly, he does teach the kids to hit and hit hard, just like a lot of mountain coaches. Say what you like, but this did not happen.

Hope your season goes well from here on out and we're really looking forward to seeing you next year.

(I don't think we're allowed to bring that up, HT721, but you are correct. That was not one of our parents that did that. The kid does not play anymore and I don't know what ever happened to the Williamsburg parent involved.)

I did hear some of the things mentioned shouted by a LC fan, unfortunately her voice carries...There are bad fans eveywhere, we have our share...But one thing I will say, Dave Mitchell would not coach to take a kid out...

How was LC's coach trying to take out Williamsburg's QB?

As a Lynn Camp faithful I apologize to the people that head and was offended by that type of language at the game it was uncalled for. However as DC mentioned it does go both ways, I heard it down at the tents as well. But that's always have been and always will be a part of this game, and many other games like it no matter where you play. I thought the game was a pretty well played game despite the conditions. I would have loved to see Sid at 100% last night, it could have been a different outcome, because the main thing LC has lost this season has been speed, and having a speed back to go along with Pearson, would have been huge, hopefully Sid will be able to get more touches next week, and continue to get better before the LCA playoff game. Congrats to the burg on their first district title in this new district.

Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12 Nuff said, anything else is an excuse. I really dont see how Williamsburg ever wins without the aid of officials....geez every week opponents get on here and gripe about the officials and yes there were blown calls...Lynn camp got a favorable 5 yards on a punt spot on the running in to the kicker call (which should have been roughing) but so what. Lynn Camp had linemen downfield on the broken punt pass, plus got a very favorable spot for a first down on the play (it was right in front of me and he was close to a yard short on forward progress) but so what. Williamsburg beat the campers at their own game. They were more physical and used Ed Lawson as a battering ram and ran the ball down the Campers throat. It was a hard hitting, hard fought game. I wish the Campers luck in the playoffs, and wish the Jackets well.

Maybe if the Jackets make a good playoff run Coach Herron and his staff and this team will get a bit of hard earned respect. Also Williamsburg is the "little" school in the tri county...smaller enrollment.

Unless someone catches fire and goes on a crazy run like LC did in '03, I don't see deep runs by either team I saw play last night. LC's key injuries are starting to bite them. Williamsburg is good, but their talent will not matchup with the teams our district has to face in the playoffs (Raceland/LCA) to win a Region Crown. (I know they played Frankfort well early, but they lost, still. Close will still send us home in the playoffs.) The other district is just full of experience and skill that is hard to match.

Jackets and LC will have tons of trouble making it very far in the playoffs with the district draws the way they are.

LC faces a difficult road test now and W'burg will be facing the same type of upper tier Class A team in week 2.

LC will still be hampered, injury wise and Williamsburg, while somewhat more athletic than usual, will not have the horses to knock out the LCA/Raceland representative, either. Homefield is the only advantage Williamsburg would have in the matchups the way they are. Our district will definitely be overmatched.

Way things stand, I see, with a lot of probability, LC losing at LCA because of athleticism and see Williamsburg catch the same thing the next week.

If either team is still looking for "respect" The regular season will be where it's at this year, volfan782000.
