Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12

Featured Replies

What would you suggest, Return? Last night Wagner had been released for a total of about 8 hours, Steele was gone, Napier is gone, and Person and Mitchell have been our real threats for about 5 games. Of course changes are coming. Wagner will get more carries, freeing up Ty and Jonah somewhat. We just could not do much with Wagner back that soon.

Lynn Camp will definitely be a better football team once Wagener gets up to full speed, but does he have time to get ready by the play-offs? I did not watch this game, how was his performance? Was the hit that put the Moses kid out for a little bit the one on Sports Overtime/ Times Tribune made it sound like the Lawson kid won the district championship. Congradulations Jackets.

Williamsburg 28 Lynn Camp 12 Nuff said, anything else is an excuse. I really dont see how Williamsburg ever wins without the aid of officials....geez every week opponents get on here and gripe about the officials and yes there were blown calls...Lynn camp got a favorable 5 yards on a punt spot on the running in to the kicker call (which should have been roughing) but so what. Lynn Camp had linemen downfield on the broken punt pass, plus got a very favorable spot for a first down on the play (it was right in front of me and he was close to a yard short on forward progress) but so what. Williamsburg beat the campers at their own game. They were more physical and used Ed Lawson as a battering ram and ran the ball down the Campers throat. It was a hard hitting, hard fought game. I wish the Campers luck in the playoffs, and wish the Jackets well.

Maybe if the Jackets make a good playoff run Coach Herron and his staff and this team will get a bit of hard earned respect. Also Williamsburg is the "little" school in the tri county...smaller enrollment.

Welcome to Corbin's world:lol:.......and it does get old. It comes with the territory when you start to win a little too often for the ones who do not like you.

Unless someone catches fire and goes on a crazy run like LC did in '03, I don't see deep runs by either team I saw play last night. LC's key injuries are starting to bite them. Williamsburg is good, but their talent will not matchup with the teams our district has to face in the playoffs (Raceland/LCA) to win a Region Crown. (I know they played Frankfort well early, but they lost, still. Close will still send us home in the playoffs.) The other district is just full of experience and skill that is hard to match.

Jackets and LC will have tons of trouble making it very far in the playoffs with the district draws the way they are.

LC faces a difficult road test now and W'burg will be facing the same type of upper tier Class A team in week 2.

LC will still be hampered, injury wise and Williamsburg, while somewhat more athletic than usual, will not have the horses to knock out the LCA/Raceland representative, either. Homefield is the only advantage Williamsburg would have in the matchups the way they are. Our district will definitely be overmatched.

Way things stand, I see, with a lot of probability, LC losing at LCA because of athleticism and see Williamsburg catch the same thing the next week.

If either team is still looking for "respect" The regular season will be where it's at this year, volfan782000.

Williamsburg can beat LCA and Lynn Camp has a shot if healthy.

Amen. Sometimes, the better team simply wins.

I dont know if he won it or not but he has been huge for the Jackets this year and seems to be a fine young man. He's respectful and polite every time I'm around him.

I'm tired of all the excuses. LC was simply not the better team on the field. Just the way it was back in 05 when LC destroyed Williamsburg. Some years you have it and some you don't. I wish the best of luck to both LC and Williamsburg and hope one of them bring home some hardware to our area of the State.

It is the lack of making the defense change that I question. That is all, If Lynn Camp would of put more pressure on The Williamsburg Defense by changing up some of the schemes, it would have gotten Williamsburg out of their comfort zone.

I would still favor LCA in that one, wherever it is played. They have just about every single player back from last year. I just think they are too much for any team in our district. Williamsburg is good this year, just not at the elite status that the Beechwood/LCA/Racelands are. W'burg has a good team. LCA has the better team, IMO.

That is a good sign for Williamsburg when you pick against us. Last year you picked LC over the Jackets, and this year you picked C'ville over the Jackets. I guess this is a good for the Jackets!

The Lawson kid has been a very good addition to the Jackets this year. It is good to see a kid who works hard have some sucess. I barely know the kid, but he I have heard he is a good student who never causes trouble in school. These type of kids are always going to fit in well at the burg.

In the past I also have picked Middlesboro over the Jackets, Pikeville over the Jackets, LC over the Jackets (a few times), Frankfort over the Jackets (this year), LCA over the Jackets (last year), etc. If you're going to pick and choose, pick some that I have picked right, too. I just went and double checked the thread on predictions between W'burg and LC for this past game (friday) and I never made a prediction either way. I did not think I had. You can go check, too. (Also, a LOT of Jackets fans were picking LC against the Jackets last year. No one knew Joe would go down early with an injury. Now you're just piling on with that one. Even the papers picked us. Get on Les, too, if you're going to go that way.)

It's not like I have picked Harlan, Jenkins or Pineville to upset the doggone Jackets.

I will also guarantee you that if there is an LCA/Jackets matchup and a poll goes up on here, that the Jackets will nt be favored by the majority of the voters.

It will not read Jackets 74 votes, LCA 0 votes, either. I'm not the only one that picks the elite teams over non-elite teams. Jackets could beat LCA. Anyone could beat anyone on a given night. I am just saying that LCA would be too much for the Jackets. You can play "homer" all you want, but if the matchup comes to reality, I will not be the only one picking against you.

Also, you have seen the elite teams play.

LCA, Beechwood, Frankfort are all in a different air than us. It takes some doing to take them out.

(If picking W'burg meant they would lose, I guess I would spend my one vote FOR them every week (with apologies to Ramblin Man). What I pick does not matter.)

We beat Frankfort (years ago) before they turned into what they currently are. We lost to Beechwood and Y'all have yet to beat any of the others on the list, also. Someone said something on here earlier about the better teams winning. That is true and that is what is in front of our district right now. You can dog me over having respect for what these teams can do, but until we take one out, they are proving it, Return.

Laugh it up. You know what those teams can do. W'burg played Frankfort close and had chances, but made mistakes. Did Frankfort play perfect, mistake free football that night, or did they have an off game, too?

Actually Williamsburg has beaten Beechwood before in a regular season game. Coach Herron played on that team.

I would love to see LC beat LCA and come back down to Wburg for another big match-up. Not because I would rather play LC but I would like to see our district do well and I'm not a big private school supporter.

Also Wburg has beaten Frankfort.

So they beat Beechwood years ago and we both beat Frankfort years ago.

A lot has changed.

Does anyone know if LC/W'burg would be the 2nd round or 3rd?

I'm thinking LC would probably have to beat LCA and Raceland:scared: both to even think about a rematch. I am probably wrong, but I think that W'burg would play the C'ville/Fairview winner.

It's our 1 (Burg) against their 4 (Paris), and their 3 (Fairview) against our 2 (C'ville), right?

That would put their 1(Raceland) against our 4(Clinton) and their 2(LCA) against our 3 (LC).

Then the winners against winners, would keep LC and Burg away from each other until the Region?

Somebody clear this up.
