I'm interested in hearing how everyone in the 8th Region thinks it will stack up this year...I realize this is about as "unofficial" a poll as can be, but would like to request that only those who see the 8th region boys teams "vote" so I can get a feel....(although I would love to see comments from everyone else!! :thumb:)

 

Please pick your top four...who's the sleeper team / player this year?

 

My "First Blush" to get things going:

 

1 - Anderson County - 8th Player of Year in C.J. Penney(?)

2 - North Oldham

3 - Shelby County

4 - Owen County - I seem to remember the Rebels have a lot of kids returning from a team that nearly upset Shelby in last year's region.

 

Sleeper Team: Oldham County

 

Sleeper Player: Devin Rowan, North Oldham

 

I don't remember who's coming back for Simon Kenton and Gallatin County...what about those guys? What teams may be poised for a breakout year?

 

My top 4 would have to go something like this:

1. Shelby Co.

2. Anderson Co.

3. Owen Co.

4. Toss a coin; No.Oldham, Gallatin, Oldham, SK.????????

 

Sleeper Team: (without a doubt) Trimble County Raiders

 

Sleeper Player('s): Aaron Law, Christian Courtney

 

If everyone continues to overlook TC they will bring down alot of these top teams hopes, especially if Lauster can get all 5 Sr's firing altogether you better watchout.:thumb:

No North Oldham in the top 5??? That would be a shock.

Maddox might be a nice player but he is no where close to penny. Penny has the talent, body and also handles the ball. Player of the year in the 8th.

I'm not sure but I thought I heard Maddox beat out Penny for a spot on the Eddie Ford AAU team this summer. Somebody must like Maddox for this to happen. Like I said I don't know if this is true just heard it this summer.

Maddox is a great player and so is Penny. I don't know about him not coming close but Penny is definetly the better player. His athletic ability will take him farther and you can't really teach that. No doubt Maddox is right behind him, and I give Trent this, he is an extremly smart player.

I like what I saw out of Maddox last night and I heard he wasn't 100% yet. What impressed me the most was he didn't force anything even though he was the most talented player on the court. He's a good passer, and seemed to have a high IQ.
