Rays 3 Red Sox 1 Game 7 ALCS

Featured Replies

Congrats to the Rays......and to any "true" Rays fans (if an exist on here ). I am glad that this (game 7) was as good of a game as it was and not a blowout by either team. Just a great baseball game

Tampa Bay has been the feel good story all season and they are definately deserving of the win. They (Rays) would have been a lot more of a feel good story if they were in another division than my Yankees.:D

This should be a good WS.

Don't tell anybody I'm here. :sssh:

Twice in one night? I'm sending LRCW to check on you... :D

No matter who your team is, its almost impossible to not like the Rays isn't it? What a story they have become. I mean the Celtics traded for Garnett and Allen, the Rays just came out of nowhere with their youngsters. No one, (and if someone said they did they are lying) would have ever picked the Rays to make the WS this year, and if someone would have said that back at the first of April, then you would have been laughed out of the room. Again, what a story, you just got to love it......unless your a Sox fan.

RP was all over the Rays before the season. Waiting for his thoughts... :irked:

I am Cardinal fan through and through but you are right. I was pulling for them tonight. I won't go out and buy a hat or shirt but it is hard not to pull for the underdog. About like the NCAA tourny.

GT I have been waiting for his thread patting himself on the back any day now. He wasn't exactly all over the Rays but he said they would be much improved.

He just said that they would finish over .500. Nothing about a WS appearance. But he nailed his prediction.

Great series. Hats off to the Rays. What an amazing turnaround. Great manager, you cant dislike the guy. Also, as a baseball fan, you had to like the dogpile at the end.

Not sure who I'll be rooting for in the WS. I'd love for the AL to win, but I'm not a big fan of the Rays either. Either way, it's going to be an amazing series IMO

I was just listening to T. Francona's pc.....the man is all class! :thumb:

Still yet that was probably the closest thing to the Rays that this board got for sure. :D

I mean I'm proud of myself for sticking up for them around before the all star break when about everybody it seemed who posted said they'd gas out, and just a few really thought they were for real.

At the beginning of the series, I figured the Red Sox would win. After taking Game 1, it looked like the Rays were tight and wouldn't stand much of a chance as the series wore on.

We saw how things unfolded in the next 3 games and it looked like they were going to roll right through. Then everything that happened in Game 5 and 6. I really thought the Rays had no shot tonight.

I really didn't expect Garza to pitch that well "AGAIN". Rays fall behind early, Lester is dealing and the game wears on, you just figured the pressure would get the best of them. They proceed to bounce back, take the lead and take the Red Sox best shot and still pull it out.

All the respect and congratulations in the world to the Rays, should be a heck of a series against the Phillies.

I read a funny quote somewhere for Red Sox fans to look at the bright side...their 2010 roster just beat them out of the 2008 playoffs.

BTW, how impressive was the Sox streak of 9 straight win in when facing elimination?

Congratulations to the Rays. They're an exciting team that is oozing young talent.

The Phillies are in deep, deep trouble.

How so?
