October 16, 200817 yr Yeah, a lot of bandwagoners such as yourself....:lol: Far from a bandwagon fan...It won't bother me who wins but seeing the Rays go from the worst team in baseball to 1 win away from the World Series is a great feat and an even better story. I'm a die hard Braves fan and will always be. I'll be watching the World Series because I love baseball and because it's the World Series, doesn't really matter to me who's in it, I'm just glad it's not the Yankees nor the Mets.

The past few years, if it has not included the name Boston or New York in the series, the ratings have been horrendous. Hopefully I will be proved wrong because I love the Rays story (who have yet to make it to the series ) and the Fightin Phils.

It shows all of the small market teams than you can win with a small payroll. If that's not good for baseball, then I don't know what is.

Fox already has a multi year contract with MLB worth millions of dollars. A badly rated series is not going to hurt MLB. When the contract is up in 2013, there will be another network ready to fork over millions of dollars again despite what ever ratings this years series may have.

October 16, 200817 yr Ratings all come from the way media portrays it. I mean if there were media coverage of the Rays for many many years and they got hyped up and everything then we'd have a different story. The only reason people view these ratings are because of how often the Yankees, Boston, Dodgers, are always on tv. ESPN is in Connecticut I believe and they are New York, Boston biased...Not saying it's always bad but when people start talking about them and ratings and how it's good for baseball, it's just dumb. Baseball shouldn't be about money, Boston and New York are just that, teams made from an unlimited payroll. That's not good for baseball for the simple fact that it shows that you need to spend, spend and spend in order to win and that's not true. The Rays story is a great story for baseball and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know much about baseball. This World Series will not get low ratings and if by chance it does then it shows just how much fans have changed from loving baseball to loving media driven storylines.

October 16, 200817 yr Considering the Rays seal the deal tonight: Longoria, Upton, Utley, Victorino, are enough to keep it interesting. Longoria has been a beast and look what Upton did in the last game against the BoSox. Upton hustled his butt off. I didn't want to watch that game, but to see Upton and Longoria doing what they are, I stuck around. And the fact that Boston was getting hammered added icing onto the cake. I will watch the WS.
