Featured Replies

Phillies defeat Dodgers 4-1 in series.

First pennant since 1993.

Should be a fun matchup again Rays/Sox.:ylsuper:

Phillies WS history: 1 title (1980) - 6 NL Pennants (1915, 1950, 1980, 1983, 1993 & 2008)

I hope it's them and the Rays. That's good for baseball IMO! I really like Utley and Victorino helped me win some good cash this year in fantasy baseball:)

Manny had a good game. 2 for 3 with another HR I believe. His post season numbers were unreal.

I was secretly hoping for a Dodgers/Redsox world series.

Congrats to the Phillies on the win.

Sorry, but a Philly/Tampa series is terrible for baseball.

The ratings will be terrible. People in the big markets, LA, Chicago, Boston, NY, none of them will be watching....It'd be a great story sure, but I'd bet the house Bud is praying for another Sox comeback.

And that's all part of the problem. I could care less if the Red Sox, Dodgers, Yankees ever made it to another WS.

Baseball is a team sport and teams should not be downed and frowned upon because they worked harder than the "big market" teams and made it to the World Series. The Rays and Phillies are good for baseball and they play fundamental baseball unlike a lot of the other teams.

Personally I would have hated a Red Sox/ Dodgers matchup because it's so cliche and it'd be the same ole thing over and over. Too many stupid story lines instead of focusing on the two teams as a team in the WS.

With the Rays and Phillies you have 2 story lines. Rays go from worst to first and the Phillies battled back to take the East and the Pennant. Nuff said start the world series.

Dodgers haven't been to a series since 88 or 89. So that same old thing over and over again thing is a complete joke.

Far from a joke is more like it. I didn't say they had to be in it to have a stupid cliche storyline taking over the bigger picture...Hmmm let's see since you seem to forget....Manny facing the Red Sox, Torre and Manny together facing the Sox, We'll see which team got the better trade in July..I mean those headlines would have been everywhere for a year after the WS. I'm glad neither team made it, and I think baseball is better because of it.

Instead, there's no headline, and no one is gonna watch....

People are going to watch. It may not get the highest ratings but baseball in general barely does anyway because of the late start times for the games. Trying to say a Rays / Phillies world series is not good for baseball is a joke though.

If anything it helps baseball because it shows smaller market teams can win the world series, like the Marlins have already proven.

The ratings are most likely going to be some of, if not, the lowest of all-time. How in the world is that good for baseball?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then won't we. I don't believe it'll be the lowest in history. There are a lot of people rooting for the Rays.

I doubt I watch.

Yeah, a lot of bandwagoners such as yourself....
