You obviously have no clue as to what SK has on the sidelines. Everyone of the sophmores that started last year as well as several of the starting jv players from last year are physically capable of competing this year. It all comes down to a staff that plays players for the grade their in. Not for the talent level or the win. Look at the game friday when the jv went in. The moved the ball were within scoring range three timeouts left and not used. The jv would have put points on the board and the coach would not let them. he knows they can do it and wont let them.

Yes it was jv vs. jv in the end but why not let them put points on the board. this has always been a problem at SK that the JV are ignored. They should have been given a chance in the varsity game when they obxiously could not have done any worse than the teams that was on the field. If you put them in u just might find some talent that you have overlooked by playing the player that is just upperclass. That is my whole point on here. They were picked to be the favorite this season not just because of the upperclassmen. They were there last year. It was because of the talent they had at the sophmore level this year. If the AD and Headcoach would step aside and let another coach take over they will be a force for the rest of the season as well as the next couple of years.

Also, in regards to a previous post, the preseason ranking of SK came from the upperclassmen and the underclassmen that start, not from the potential of a Soph. class that is not going to be the main guys until next year.

An example here for him... In 2005 Ludlow's JV team went 9-1. Lost by 1 point 14-13 to NCC. Actually had it not been for a clip on a pick6 they would've been 10-0. Then in 2006 those same kids on a varsity level fo 4-6, and have the same record as seniors in 2007. You can't look at what they do in years past as the sole reason they will be good at the varsity level it just doesn't work that way.

That trend would have them sitting for the playoffs......For Sk's sake I hope that trend gives one way or the other.

 

I think HC will suprise SK if everyone for HC is back and healthy.

I know enough to state that when the team you have on the field is not getting the job done you start putting in your alternates to see if they can do a better job. This encourages them to develop more as well as puts a little fear into your starters when they see the may lose their spot to a lower classmen. All I am saying is if it is not broke dont fix it. It is obviously broke and needs some fixin. By the way I do not have a son on the team. Just a local that has followed SK for quite sometime now. Although I do now their are alot of angry parents in the stands lately.

Also, the angry parents have been there for many years and they will continue to be for the rest of time. They are angry because their kids aren't getting in. However, as Jeanie said, the coaches are going to do what they think is the best thing for the program. I understand your point on putting in some of the alternates to get some time and experience but it seems like you are suggesting that they go ahead and put the entire Soph. class in the game. That is clearly not the best team that they can put on the field and they are still alive in the playoff race so I don't see why they would.

 

I thought of one more thing. Why would you want to use a timeout at the very end of a 42-7 football game with the JV in? It does nothing for you or your team and even risks getting kids hurt. The game is over, and another score will not make it look any better on the scoreboard.

 

I'm sure your intentions are for the best of the program, but remember so too are those of the coaches who see the kids at practice, in films, and in the weight room every day.

Congradulations on a good career I suppose. By playing that much you should realize the difference of a Thursday night freshman game to a Friday night varsity game. The coaches realize this and thats why these kids aren't playing like you think they should. I agree with you on the fact that you try putting fear into starters eyes by showing them that if they dont do their job that it may be in jeopardy, however you save that situation for practice not during the heat of a game. Im sure that coach Marksberry has tried to mix things up during practice and if it was working in practice then he would stick with it when it came to Fridays. So maybe these sophomores you talk about need to start proving themselves in practice and they will get the opportunity to play on Fridays, its obvious that quite a few sophomores already have and that makes it obvious that Marksberry isn't against playin underclassmen and does his best to put the best 11 on the field.

I think he is fine. I don't know personally, but I feel that had it still been a game when the injury took place that he would have probably went back in.
