I thought SK would have kept it a little closer than they did. I thought they could come up with an upset if they played like they have been.

For the SK fans, look on the bright side...you haven’t had a loosing streak longer than a single game this season...but then, you haven’t had a winning streak of more than one game either. If this pattern holds true, SK should beat Russell, loose to Campbell then finish out the season with a win against Holy Cross.

 

I know Im describing the obvious, but this has got to be incredibly frustrating for the Simon Kenton players, coaches and fans.

Man, the blinders are killing you.. The sophomores who are physically mature enough to play do so. The ones who need another year are sitting and waiting, a good freshman team doesn't equal a good varsity team the very next year.

 

You obviously have no clue as to what SK has on the sidelines. Everyone of the sophmores that started last year as well as several of the starting jv players from last year are physically capable of competing this year. It all comes down to a staff that plays players for the grade their in. Not for the talent level or the win. Look at the game friday when the jv went in. The moved the ball were within scoring range three timeouts left and not used. The jv would have put points on the board and the coach would not let them. he knows they can do it and wont let them.

I was not at the game but could it have been that SK's JV was going against Boone County's JV? I am not saying you are right or wrong but just curious. I remember that SK had a very good freshman team last year but like one person said on here it doesn't always follow suit to varsity.

That trend would have them sitting for the playoffs......For Sk's sake I hope that trend gives one way or the other.

Yes it was jv vs. jv in the end but why not let them put points on the board. this has always been a problem at SK that the JV are ignored. They should have been given a chance in the varsity game when they obxiously could not have done any worse than the teams that was on the field. If you put them in u just might find some talent that you have overlooked by playing the player that is just upperclass. That is my whole point on here. They were picked to be the favorite this season not just because of the upperclassmen. They were there last year. It was because of the talent they had at the sophmore level this year. If the AD and Headcoach would step aside and let another coach take over they will be a force for the rest of the season as well as the next couple of years.

Coach Marksbury is a great coach. It's be a shame for him to step aside. Also is SK officially out of the playoff picture now?

I don't think SK was picked to be the favorite this season just because of the sophmore talent. I believe everybody that is starting varsity has earned their spot. There is a few sophmore players that start varsity.

Great person yes, great coach no way. His assistants anyone of them would be a great head coach. A great coach would be one who makes use of all the talent that he has not just play the players because of class. Get your head in the game.

I have seen SK's JV play this year. They don't do an above average job blocking JV defense. What makes you think they can go in a varsity game? As far as other underclassmen even if they are the next Miles Simpson it'd be crazy to put them un this early without the line take a beating and lose interest. Believe me Marksbury is doing what is best for his team now and in the future. Keep in mind it is darn easy for you and I to coach from here. Especially AFTER a 42-7 loss.

I am not talking about the backfield. I am talking about putting linemen in that will do the job. At least put them in and see what they can do. They could not do any worse that what was on the field. Those boys want a chance and cant get it. You have Helton, Haggard, Rice, Aubrey, Willams (plays varsity but not oline), as well as others. It would not hurt this team to play them at varsity level to see what they can do. Cant hurt when u have not line blocking to start with. not just this lose either. There was NCC, Conner, Ryle and Boone. All games pretty much lost due to blocking.

I agree all are lost due to blocking although I think with a good O line they still loose to Boone. I can see giving them a shot I thought you meant these guys should be starting hands down, but I see what your saying I mean hard for Simpson to do his thing when he is being hit literally as he gets the handoff.

Thats all I am saying. A good coach knows his team. A great coach uses all his talent. Put them in and see how they do against a varsity team. I think he would be surprised how well they will due.
