Kudos to Conner Defense, they came out flying to the football, atleast 4-5 sacks in the game, I believe every D-Lineman had one. Great coverage and great catch on the interception by #8 Jordan. Played their hearts out, "Together, We Will Win"

Congrats to Conner for earning a playoff spot. Both teams played hard. The game backs up what everyone has been saying: NKY 6A is very even between the top 5 teams. It comes down to SK/Campbell game for the last playoff spot. Good luck to all teams. We'll have to keep improving greatly to get up to the top 2 level.

Congrats to Conner on a very well played game. Their defensive game plan was outstanding - kudos to their defensive coach. This was a defense that had given up an average of 33 points their last 4 games. They stuck 8 men in the box, played the WR's tight, took away the run and challenged Ryle to throw downfield. The first half goose egg by Ryle's offense hurt. They did adjust in the second half, but Ryle had better expect to see this defense frequently the remainder of the year. Until defenses start respecting Ryle's passing game, it makes sense for them to load up at the line to stop Ryle's running game.

 

Ryle's defense played well enough to win. They held Conner to their lowest point total of the season. I think if you would have asked just about anyone who they thought would win if Conner only scored 17 points, you would have gotten a near 100% prediction in Ryle's favor. But, much like the Simon Kenton game, Conner's offense turned up the heat late, and made some great plays. Again, congrats to them.

 

Ryle can still win 6A if they knock off Boone in two weeks. If they lose, there could be a three-way tie for 2nd with several teams at 2 losses.

At this point, Ryle 3-1 in the conference. If Boone wins tonight, they are 4-0. The Boone/Ryle game will be like this.

 

Boone 4-0, Ryle 3-1. If Ryle wins over Boone, head-to-head is the 1st tie breaker, Ryle would win the conference.

This was Ryles only conference loss, if they win out, they will have beaten Boone Co. They will then have one conference loss each (tied). The tie-breaker is head-to-head results.

Scooter Englemon, although small, is the best receiver in nky IMO. The kid can flat out fly and I have yet to see a Db keep him in check. HE had several huge catches on the night to keep the Conner drives alive.
