Not sure who will start early in the season and it really doesn't matter. With the football players just getting in there they need to gel and under Yager they will. I think some people will be surpised at how this lineup shakes out in the end.

;)

I think this group will have alot of chemistry this season. This has been lacking for several years. The sophomores, Jrs. and Srs. in this class have played alot of ball together over the years in all sports. I believe they have all matured to the point they will play for each other and what is represented on the front of the jersey and not what is on the back of the jersey. Good Luck boys , represent your team and county well.:thumb:

 Got to love those!

Black and Gold scrimmage was tonight and I couldn't help but get cold chills when my boys were runnin the court. The two teams were divided almost perfectly. The two almost matched each other basket for basket and stop for stop. While neither half was a very high scoring affair, both teams were getting after it, running the floor making the extra pass and finishing the shot. Saw many good things from many different key players. The Football guys don't seem to be having any trouble getting up and down the court. It was discussed earlier in the thread about probable starters and I think the four of Hendricks, Allen, Yager, and Cable have secured their spot and i think the third would have to go to Brocious. He scrapped and hustled and his mid range jumper looked nice. He also has the age on the other guys and has grown up alot over the past year. But i'm deff not the coach and i'm sure which ever team Coach decides to put on the floor, they will go to war for him. Respect for Coach Yager seems to be through the roof and I think these guys are back loving the game from years past. Could this be CC's year to go back to All A?

Very excellent post for the most part. However I would encourage any true CC fan to stop talking about who should start. Morale is very high in this program right now and as fans need to keep it there. All we do when we put emphasis on who starts is created dissension amongst the players. As far as whatever team coach puts on the floor, well there will be only one team and that is THE Carroll County Panthers. I understand these forums are to discuss things like who will start , but anyone close to the program knows these kids well enough to know they do not need that . I think this team will be very deep and we will have several sophomores contributing as well as the JRs and SRs.

From what I know about Mr. Yager, I suspect there will be many line-ups this year depending on several factors. If they truly want to work as a team, the kids won't get hung up on this minor detail. I work with a fella who says the coaching hire was definitely a positive decision and that CC is deeper this year. This will enable the team to see many combinations on the court which will be a change from last year. This is one factor that contributed to Gallatin's success last year. Good luck to GC, CC and all the other small schools in the 8th!

I agree, Yager will probably look at the competition and see who matches up with them the best. That is the best thing about having this deep of a team..there could be many different starters in the season and I really do not think the boys on this team care. They seem to have 1 goal and that is to win a lot of games. Even when they were playing each other in the preview they had a lot of respect for each others abilities.

I thought they looked great.. and I wish them the best. It was a great opening for the fans to have the preview with both the girls and boys. Many cans of food were raised for the food pantry also.

It's great to see optimism and a positive attitude in Carroll County. Good Luck this year to Coach Yager and team. :thumb:

With both the All "A" Regional and 31st District being held in Carrollton this season it sounds like the Panthers could make some noise come tournament time.

I agree. Adding a seasoned coach like Carroll Yeager, and Carroll County should be the favorite to win the 8th Region All A and the 31st District.
