Dropoff in talent... They have some talent at the Jr. High level. I don't know if it will get them back to glory or not.

 

Paris have always seemed to have some good athletes and speed. They for whatever reason have not been able to put things together for quite a while. With athletes like the Greyhounds always seem to have, imo they could be a threat to upset anyone on a given night. I do not now a whole lot about the talent level there this season.

I agree with you OldRambler, Paris always has the chance to upset any team in this district on any given night. They have the potential to be dangerous just because of their overall team speed and athleticism. However, Raceland has not had a problem beating Paris as of late, I may be wrong but I think Raceland has beat Paris 5 straight times, twice in 06'. I look for the Rams to show up and put it to the Greyhounds early. But they need to remember that, you cant let a team like Paris stick around for the fourth quarter, you have to put them away early and shut down their confidence. Raceland is on a mission and the Ram coaching staff will have the guys ready to go for victory number 6.

Good Monday morning Rams, the Greenup game is now behind us and the Paris game is dead ahead. You have to stay focused on the bigger prize, and to do that you have to play every game focused and determined. No let downs, and no lost sight of the prize.

 

The Greenup County game was not your best game of the year, there was some let down. You played well, but not at the level of the Ashland or LCA game. We have to have the intensity like the LCA and Ashland games in every game we play. This is a good opportunity to step that back up a notch.

 

Paris is not going to come in to this game expecting to lose, they are going to come hungry for an upset. Don't come in ill prepared and give them that opportunity. Begin the preparation today, and carry the proper mind set all week for this district game. Show up ready to play your game. Great teams play hard every game.

 

Play like a Champion.

I think that focus will be the key to victory. As the preacher said in his prayer before the LCA game, Concentrate on what the coaches have taught them so that they can execute the plays they have practiced. Also, anytime you play a team with speed, you have to remain disciplined in your defensive assignments. If we can contain their speed and avoid the early big plays, we should take care of business.

I hate to post that score but Paris is the weakest team Raceland has played so far an if the other scores are any indication there maybe nothing Coach Randy can do to stop the carnage except take a knee and to me that would be worse than scoring.

Excellent post and comments once again Ram. After talking to some people and reviewing I agree that Raceland had some let downs vs. GCHS that should not have happened. I just don't think that we played a complete ball game and could have been more focused and intense.

Ram players, as Ram has said lets get back on track and do not lose intensity, "Fear no one but Respect all". :thumb:

Paris just doesn't seem to have the numbers. I believe that they dressed something like 26 in their first game of the year, with several guys playing on both sides of the ball. They have a couple of skill players with good speed; but the team wears down as the game progresses.
