I went to the Meade County-Nelson County game.

 

Mrs. Hearsay, who is registered as an Independent and believes in subsidized health care, said that Obama said "John is right" a lot, that McCain looked constipated, that both of their answers appeared canned, and that she was annoyed that Obama kept calling McCain "John" and our President "Mr. Bush," rather than "Senator" and "President." Said it comes off as disrespectful.

 

Hearsay's 6-year old thinks his Mommy should vote for "that white-haired guy" because he can fly fighter planes. I gave him ice cream for that.

I have said before I don't vote and you could pick apart both candidates til the cows come home.

 

Fact is, McCain seemed to spend way too much time discussing the past and everything he has done. While "on the job experience" is invaluable, he seemed to spend WAY too much discussing that. He kept saying WINNING the war. THERE IS NO WINNER! There is no way in goodness green earth we are ever going to WIN. That is the problem with the war to begin with and why we need a timetable. For all the good things we might be doing, there will ALWAYS be conflict. This idea that we keep at it, we will "get em" is the WRONG mentality to have. Obama asks that we look into balancing things and not having EVERYTHING focused on Iraq and he is exactly right.

 

Mccain said nothing that made me think, ya know, he is right. It's the same crap this country has dealt with for eight years and it hasn't worked. WE NEED TO LOOK INTO ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES!!!

I couldn't count the number of times Obama had to "correct" him on wrong information he was giving. While there is no winner in this debate, because you are going to feel the way you felt before hand, I thought Obama did an outstanding job.

 

About the bolded in your post...There can "DARN WELL BE A LOSER". I honestly believe Obama has no intentions of putting a time line on withdrawal from Iraq. He's using it to appeal to those that really think it's the thing to do. He can't do it alone anyway.

 

Are you gullible enough to believe that Barry was always right when trying to correct NcCain? He couldn't afford to say "John is right" many more times.

I did notice that. I didn't take this as a sign of disrespect between peers. If he called President Bush "George" then yes, I'd consider that disrespectful, but not with peers.

I do...and I also look at them when I am addressing them.

It's hypocritical to complain about not looking at Obama while saying it's fine to call McCain by his first name in a presidential debate.

McCain has fallen in my eyes quite a bit since his pick of Palin. However, as far as the "you've done nothing" comment, you might want to pull up the thread right after the RNC where someone said that McCain used his POW experience as a crutch and the thrashing I gave them on it.

 

I am leaning heavily Obama at the moment. However, my "pick apart" of McCain is nothing like the trashing that Obama receives daily on here. I am sincerely presenting things that I had admired in McCain that have now diminished in my eyes. Remember, regardless of where I am now in my voting decision, I have been an undecided most of the campaign.

 

You seem to have made some changes, too. You've went from saying that you would support whoever got elected president to calling Obama an idiot and a fool and that those that support him are moronic. What has changed for you?

Not in the slightest. I wouldn't call my principal by his first name, but I would my co-workers. I would not allow my students to call me by first name either. However, I would give all three groups my respect by looking at them while I am talking to them.

Obama's "trashing" by me is well earned by him, his stance on the issues deserve to be trashed harshly IMO. His extreme weakness in foreign policy really rang true in the debate as well.
