I assume then that you have no problem with McCain's choice to not look at Obama at all while he was addressing him? This does not show disrespect? That is the point that was first mentioned in this thread and the answer to that turned into, "well, Obama was disrespecting him, too!" I just want to get beyond all of the childishness. It's Saturday and I'd like to not deal with that type of behavior outside of the classroom.

Did you not hear the constant linking him with the Bush administration? It's all he's done since the campaign began. Getting old, even older than what you're complaining about.

My original post (below) was about the "one liners" that get used over and over and over, particularly by Palin, now by McCain. We are not talking about platforms or positions, but the same jokes.

 

Does anyone else get tired of the same one liners? I noted in a previous thread that i had heard Palin's speech at least 4 times, with the same jokes and the same lines. Tonight I heard, yet again, about the DNA of some bears (not sure if that is a paternal question or a criminal one) and about not being voted Miss Congeniality in the US Senate......yet again! What is more rehearsed then this?

My explanation of that is he's never been comfortable in that type of setting. He's, as I said earlier, more comfortable with a true town hall setting. I believe it has a lot more to do with this and not anything about disrespect.

I didn't feel he did all that well. He did his usual stammering (not to the extreme I've seen in town hall settings) which drives me nuts, it's like it takes him too long to gather his thoughts. I'm waiting to see how he does in a town hall setting.

It would have been a great post if she would have given the same consideration to Palin, but as it stands it's no better than the depth of nastiness in the comments about McCain, his age, Palin and on and on....

I don't care how much anyone here complains about Palin, I find it hypocritical from some that want to complain about how Obama is treated and yet they do the exact thing to her. She's fair game in my eyes on this board, but too many on here don't seem to feel the same way about the anointed one.

And Senator McCain didn't use Senator Obama first name once.....

But it is his name isn't it and you did say you refer to your business associates by their names.... Funny how you can see it one way but not the other! You get mighty defensive when things are turned around don't you! :sssh:

So far, CNN's poll of debate viewers is the only poll I can find.

 

 

Their poll of undecided viewers showed 39% thought Obama won to 25% who thought McCain won.
