September 23, 200818 yr John McCain, who once held a very open, weekly conference with reporters has yet to have that interaction for 40 days now. Sarah Palin has been the Vice Presidential candidate for 25 days and has yet to answer a reporter’s question. WaPo Palin’s presence on the campaign bus or at any campaign stop are strictly off the record. AP The campaign attempted to bar any reporter from attending her U.N. meetings until networks threatened to remove their cameras from the photo shoots. Print journalists are not still allowed. Politico Humorously, Steve Schmidt unloaded a diatribe on the media during a conference call yesterday about their coverage of the campaign, then suggested stories about Obama for them to cover that had more facts wrong than right. When questioned about the inaccuracies the campaign officially replied "You're in the tank." Politico Of course, we had the interview with Gibson. Then again, it raised more questions than it answered. It used to be that McCain would talk to anyone and answer any question and is, in my opinion, one of the reasons for his primary win. This is really like a bad dream.
September 23, 200818 yr It's more than a little curious why the McCain campaign has seen fit to shield "Sarah Barracuda", the supposed pitbull with lipstick, from practically any meaningful interaction with the press. In the 3+ weeks since McCain announced Palin's selection, she has participated in just one serious interview and that interaction raised more questions than it answered. Has Sarah Palin answered one single reporter's question since she was selected? I mean, if she's truly prepared to assume the Vice Presidency (and be next in line to replace the President), she shouldn't be cowering in the background, should she?

She is probably too busy brushing up on national current events to answer any questions at this time...................expect her availability when better prepared.
September 23, 200818 yr When is the VP debate? I'm not sure if that is a rhetorical question but... I believe its 10.2 or 10.3. I know its on a Friday night.
September 24, 200818 yr The Liberal media is too busy romancing Obama to have time to talk to Palin!!!!
September 24, 200818 yr The Liberal media is too busy romancing Obama to have time to talk to Palin!!!! Oh, I think they're doing their best; just getting stonewalled.
September 24, 200818 yr It's probably best if Palin doesn't open her mouth. Again, there must be reasons why she is being handled in this manner. She is most likely getting a crash course in foreign policy, the Laffer Curve, etc.
September 24, 200818 yr She is probably too busy brushing up on national current events to answer any questions at this time...................expect her availability when better prepared. Maybe it's just me being foolishly optimistic, but I expect VP candidates chosen 9 weeks before the election to at least be ready to go right out of the box. Maybe Sarah Palin should have come with a label stating, "Some Assembly Required."
September 24, 200818 yr So she's not ready to answer press questions, but ready to be VP. I'm a little confused.
September 24, 200818 yr So she's not ready to answer press questions, but ready to be VP. I'm a little confused. I'm afraid that McCain is as well, possibly Obama................. and for sure, me.
September 24, 200818 yr The media sure is up in arms that they are not being treated like they are used to being treated. They are used to candidates playing up to them for good press and they are not getting their egos massaged by McCain/Palin.
September 24, 200818 yr I'm afraid that McCain is as well, possibly Obama................. and for sure, me. McCain has not came across well the past 2 weeks. He does not seem to have a strong CLEAR economic message at this point and it is hurting him badly.
September 24, 200818 yr They are used to candidates playing up to them for good press and they are not getting their egos massaged by McCain/Palin. No, they're used to transparency from candidates, which they aren't getting here. And don't you mean Palin/McCain? Cause that's what she said yesterday.
