The media sure is up in arms that they are not being treated like they are used to being treated.

 

They are used to candidates playing up to them for good press and they are not getting their egos massaged by McCain/Palin.

 

This just doesn't add up. I'm sure the collective media do not like the way they are being treated by the McCain campaign, but voters should have equal concerns. Why is Palin, who will presumably be thrust to one of the highest offices in our country, not answering questions? They screen questions at townhall meetings now, McCain didn't do that before.

Commission members wanted a relaxed format that included time for unpredictable questioning and challenges between the two vice-presidential candidates. On Wednesday, the commission unanimously rejected a proposal sought by advisers to Ms. Palin and Senator John McCain of Arizona, the Republican presidential nominee, to have the moderator ask questions and the candidates answer, with no time for unfettered exchanges. Advisers to Mr. Biden say they were comfortable with either format.

Now, I'm sure the Obama campaign agreed to that structure as they have a "foot-in-mouth" artist debating and Obama and McCain will have much more open debates.

I guess, Habib, that is no different than Obama agreeing to the town hall meetings with McCain and then deciding not to do them when he felt that he might not do well in them.

I understand that the Governor of Alaska doesn't deal with foreign policy issues, but as an educated American, shouldn't she already know these names and issues? I'm positive that there are people on this site that know more about foreign policy than Palin.

To me, that says that she was just a gimmick, and now that her luster has faded, they've shifted into "holy crap" mode and giving her a crash course in everything. You and other may laugh at me, but I really feel that myself and a handful of other people on here are at least on par with Palin right now in terms of what it would take to be VP, if not ahead of her.

Knowledge and ability to lead is to different things.

 

You are tying her knowledge to her ability to lead.

 

There are some extemely educated and intelligent people in this country. They would be horrible leaders.

 

Now it helps that they have the ability to LEARN; that is essential.

 

Wisdom for leaders is more important than straight knowledge.

 

I believe she has shown the ability to lead with wisdom and I fully expect her to learn what she needs to KNOW over these next few months leading up to their inauguration day in January.

If a leader has no knowledge, I'm kind of scared as to where they're leading me to.

So she's not ready to answer press questions, but ready to be VP. I'm a little confused.
