The media sure is up in arms that they are not being treated like they are used to being treated.

 

They are used to candidates playing up to them for good press and they are not getting their egos massaged by McCain/Palin.

 

 

 

This isn't just about the press feeling slighted. We should all be up in arms.

 

Who ever heard of hiring an executive without being able to interview them? It's absurd.

We need her to answer tough questions, but she said "Thanks, but no thanks".

 

She answered some in two different interviews, I am sure more will continue.

I have yet to see (I very well may have missed it) an interview except OReilley's where he has been asked to explain his relationship with shady non-religious characters in his past.

I agree that Obama and Palin should not be compared in the number of press conferences and interviews they have given.

 

It just seems that the questions that Obama have been given have not been as "gotcha" as Palin's have been in a very short period of time.

 

One example, look at the difference of treatment on the View. One side was hugged and held up for glory. The other side fielded a comment on whether Whoopi should be prepared to return to the days of slavery.

 

The questions that Gibson gave O and Palin were very lopsided.

 

Has there been an interview BESIDES OReilly's that O was grilled on the associations with Ayers and Resko? Might have been but I don't remember it.

She was asked questions relevant to her qualifications to be the backup to the President. She was asked about world current events. She was asked about the Iraq war. She was asked about her views on social issues. She was asked about Congressional spending. She was asked about Economic policy.

 

These are questions appropriate for a job interview for VP of the United States. If she's ready to be VP, she should be ready and able to answer--nothing unfair about them.

The point is not what questions she has been asked to this point but that I would expect that they are getting her caught up on names and things so that they limit the chances of 'gotcha' questions.

And remember the question of kid gloves to Obama and railing about the press giving him an easy pass was raised by the Clintons. Last I checked, they are not Republicans or members of a right wing conspiracy.

 

I find it humorous that when Bill and Hillary were raising this issue, it was a real concern.

 

Now it is the Republicans trying to divert from the issues and blame the media. THE SAME MEDIA that the Clintons complained about.

I tried to follow but answers like these left me thoroughly confused. I was having trouble following the thought train here:

 

Hannity: What is our role as a country as it relates to national security?

 

Palin: Yes. That's a great question, and being an optimist I see our role in the world as one of being a force for good, and one of being the leader of the world when it comes to the values that -- it seems that just human kind embraces the values that -- encompass life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and that's just -- not just in America, that is in our world.

 

And America is in a position because we care for so many people to be able to lead and to be able to have a strong diplomacy and a strong military also at the same time to defend not only our freedoms, but to help these rising smaller democratic countries that are just -- you know, they're putting themselves on the map right now, and they're going to be looking to America as that leader.

 

We being used as a force for good is how I see our country.
