And I'm guessing that we associate many of these smells with places and events.
This is very true. Smells are known to be the most powerful memory trigger there is.

For instance, the last time I had gas anesthesia for a surgery was over 35 years ago. Yet I can still smell it in my mind. And every now and then, the process works in reverse. Just the right set of circumstances can actually recall the memory of that noxious odor as if it were happening all over again. Maybe I'm weird (Don't answer that.) but that happens to me with a lot of different types of smells.

I'm gonna go with that smell you get when its early football season and it just lets you know its time for football.

Also I'm gonna say pizza.

What about Funk? Is that a particular smell? Seems like everyone know what funk smells like.

This thread is cracking me up!!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Footballs themselves have a distinctive odor.

Diesel fuel, if it hasn't already been mentioned.

Gasoline, jet fuel, and lighter fluid too.

For instance, whenever I smell vanilla body lotion, I think of gentlemen's clubs.
