Just a simple poll, it really doesn't prove/disprove anything I'm just wondering what percentage of folks out there have one or have had one. So do you?

I sure do, planning on using it again this summer. Thinking Europe, perhaps Italy.

Looking to try to do a study abroad this summer. I can't afford it, but I think it'll be worth it.

I had one as a kid when my father was stationed in Scotland. Haven't been overseas since. I want to get one again, just to have one.

I'm going to take a guess that Pat might have one or maybe two or three, too many stamps in those things.

***I just now noticed that Pat started this thread, long day.

Yup.

I got mine about 7 months ago to go to Mexico. I plan on using it again next summer. Either Aruba or the Bahamas.

I do not.

Do you need a passport to go to Canada? We will be going by land, AKA driving. So we will be driving to Canada and driving back from Canada.

I do not.

I believe you do need one now.

I do not.

I don't know that you need one to get into Canada right now. However if you want to come back into the US then you'll be needing a passport.

So that's a yes because I do not plan on staying in Canada for more than a few days.

Yea unless you're planning on becoming a Canadian citizen then yes you'll be needing a passport. You may be interested in checking into the ones being offered exclusively for Canada and Mexico. Much cheaper, kinda looks like a drivers license I believe.

Here's more info on the passport card. It's about half the cost of an actual passport, but is only good in Canada and Mexico, also it's only valid if you're traveling by land or by sea NOT valid for air travel.

Thanks sf. I'll be checking that out.

No.....I do a ton of domestic traveling but that is the extent of it...

You pretty much need a passport to even cross over into Canada.

Yep. Got one this summer. Heading to the Bahamas in two weeks!

I don't have one, but have been meaning to get one. Not sure when I'll ever use it, but I guess getting one will prevent me from having to do so in order to take a trip.
