I had to get a new passport even though the other wasn't expired. Seems that the Syrians have a problem with those who have traveled to Israel, as well.

Never been fortunate enough to go abroad, but I'd love to see my mom's family's homeplace in Germany -- a tiny North Sea island called Pellworm.

 

Also would love to visit Bavaria (Germany) and Moravia (Czech Republic), where my dad's parents are from.

 

But alas, all I've been fortunate enough to do is to stand on the banks of the majestic Detroit River and gaze across at the Seagram's Distillery.
