Why would you want LB and TE there? You want blockers, OL are the most skilled at blocking, so give them the assignment.

I don't think its worth the risk by having non-hands guys on the receiving team.

I'm not trying to convince you, I am just saying what I have seen work before.

 

But, I think you are painting linemen as people who where born with some disability that does not allow them to use their hands. Not all linemen are players with bricks for hands. I have seen many linemen who could have, and did at one time, play TE. I did. I played TE and caught TD passes, then there came a time when we needed more OL and I moved to OL, did I all of a sudden loose the ability to touch the ball without peeing down my leg? No.

 

I think this is being made into a bigger deal then is necessary. Did they not recover the ball, no matter who was on the field?

Sometimes a "seasoned" offensive lineman is much better than an "unseasoned" skills player in critical situations. And there ARE linemen that have quite good hands out there!

Yes ive seen Pat play for the last 3 years, and he is not the top player in Nky. Offensivly hes going to get his td's because Covcath's offense is designed for him too. If you put him against any good team.. (Mooney) than he will be shut down. Defensivly he makes tackles, but hes not someone I would be frightened of if I was on offense. And to name some players that either will be or are better... Guidugli, Collinsworth, Crawford, Kelly, Conner(when he returns).. and I just dont think hes better then any of these guys, but he is probably somewhere in this list.

Ask the Dixie qb if you should worry about Van Sant, and the offense is not designed around him. I am pretty sure he had only 2 catches against Dixie and both were touchdowns. If the offense was designed for him then he would have touched the ball more than 2 times. You would have known that if you really watched CovCath play.

Agreed. Completely. However, I get the impression that the sole role of this bunch is to block and their hands ability is not necessarily taken into account.

Just because they are all from Highlands doesnt mean anything. Highlands is the best team in the state of course they are going to have the best players. My point with the offense being designed around Pat was that he is thiee main weapon, and is the guy they will go to for a big play. You really shouldnt put a player in the discussion for the best player in Nky when he hasnt proved himself against a good team yet. Maybe at the end of the year after we see him perform against the better teams, but not right now.
