Mr Football candidates & updates

Actually, I was told he was at 112 TD passes. The other numbers look dead on accurate. Either way, he is in the hunt for the record.

The newspaper out of Lexington has him with 112, but on the stats reported for his Freshman season he had 30 TDS, 26 as a Sophamore, 40 as a junior, and 15 so far this season. I hope he had one that didn't get reported.

I think Charlie Banks, QB for Letcher County Central should get some concideration.I am not very sure of his stats, but I think he has about 11 tds rushing plus what he has passed for. Also he is a very good student.

Rumor is that Josh Connor is practicing this week, not sure if he'll play or not but the fact that he's practicing is encouraging. I can't wait to see him out there.

I think he's referring to Quainoo but I believe he's a Jr as well.

That is correct. He is a Jr.

Those are good numbers but a lot of kids in the mountains can match that or surpass that and Bell County isn't playing a tough schedule which will downplay his acheivements. Winning Mr. Football isn't being just above average, it is being a class by themselves, not too mention you really have to have a super great Junior year to be considered for Mr. Football by the media.

Thats not all together true a few years ago Shawn Robbins rushed for 2700 yards his junior year in ll games and barely got his name in the hat his senior year

Ricky Bowling has 22 TD passes, 1 INT, 120/156, 76.92%, 1876 yds passing in 5 games. Bowling has 118 TD passes for his career, he only needs 16 more to break Tim Couch's record of 133.

Those are amazing statistics.

Corey Robinson like!

And his team is 2-3! Do they even practice defense at S. Laurel?

Great start to the season for Bowling.

It is very hard to believe SLHS is only 2-3, maybe they will win some of these close games the 2nd half of the season.

Those are amazing statistics.

The numbers are great , however not up there with the Robinson kid.

Ricky Bowling out of South Laurel HS has completed 133/178 passes for 74.7%, 2,073 yards passing, 25 TD passes and 1 INT in 6 games this season.

Only needs 13 TDs in the next 5 games to break Couch's all time TD record.

These two will not get any real looks, but I think should be in the discussion

Andrew Tuller - North Oldham -Around 800 all purpose yards, 7 TD's and Plays defense also.

Brandon Kollenberg - South Oldham - Around 1200 all purpose yards and 7 TD's

Seems pretty good by my standards.

Ricky Bowling (South Laurel) thru 2 games

42/57 for 780 yards passing - 9 TDs - 1 INT

A staggering 73.7% completion percentage & 9 to 1 TD to INT ratio

9 rushes for 45 yards & 1 TD

1 interception on defense

Only 28 TDs away from Tim Couch's state record (had 40 passing TDs last year)

Let's hear more updates on other players whose name is in the hopper for this one.

I dont think Bowling should win it for the pure fact of South Laurels record as a whole. For somebody to win Mr. Football you have to take over a game. Someone that wins Mr. Football should have there team winning at least.

Can a Junior win the award? If so, I vote for Austin Collinsworth.
