Mr Football candidates & updates

I think Ryan Williams is an amazing player. I don't think he will get Mr. Football just because he isn't from Lexington or Louisville and from everything i have been told by his teammates he hasn't gotten any big offers. But what he has done in the first 3 games is pure amazing. I want to wish him the best of luck the rest of the season.

He is being looked at by Organ and Florida State...no offers yet...but the season is still young.

Oh but he is from Lexington. He played middle school ball in Lexington and went to Henry Clay High School his first two years, but only played football as a freshman.

They play in maybe the toughest 5A district and have a solid non-district schedule, usually have a team from NKY in their bowl game. Corbin is also thrown into this. They aren't playing cupcakes. He is putting these numbers up on excellent quality teams.

Thanks for the info. :thumb:

All of this is true, but I think the point is that he is not playing for a Lexington School now. He recieved little to no press while he was in the Lexington school system.

That is because he played only as a freshman at Henry Clay. He did not play football in his sophomore season. He played for GRC as a junior and had a nice season and is on a mission this season. He is small, but strong and fast.

I am proud of how Ryan Williams has buckled down to get where he is this season. Keep it up!

You may have an argument (but not really) about Louisville, but there has never been a Mr. Football from Lexington since the award started in 1986.

19 rushes for 96 yards & 1 TD (5 yards per carry, includes any lost yardage for sacks)

Year to date for Ryan Williams of GRC...leading rusher in the state.

92 carries for 911 yards and 12 TDs.

What about Deuce Finch from St. X? I know he was regarded as one of the best backs in the state last year, and he had a lot of hype around him in the state championship game. Also, he is the star back for one of the 25 teams in the nation.

How has his season gone?

He and the Cardinals are having a great season so far!

Yes they are and I am so proud of them...after the season we had last year...glad things turned around this year.:thumb:

That Williams kid from GRC is a stud. His stats are one thing, but just watching the way he handles himself on the field is impressive. It's sort of a -men amoung boys- thing.

Ricky Bowling has completed 764 passes on 1,174 attemps for 65.08%, 10,374 career passing yards, he also has 111 TD passes, and only 30 pick's in the 37 games he's played in his career.

Actually, I was told he was at 112 TD passes. The other numbers look dead on accurate. Either way, he is in the hunt for the record.
