September 9, 200818 yr It is an interesting topic. Though, most of it is rubbish I've found the most confounding part of the story of that day the crash into the Pentagon. An enormous jet, flying as fast as it was claimed to have been, crashed into the Pentagon, caused minimal damage, yet disappeared. There is a small hole in the Pentagon, but nothing consistent with the holes left in the twin towers. No compelling piece of wreckage was found, let alone one that would prove that a plane had hit. Even the government has the story mixed up, claiming it has found a wheel, nothing, pieces of the wing, and the black box. Additionally, after the crash, a large, covered object was removed from the crash site. The government has yet to release what this covered object was. On top of this, there were cameras in position to see the plane hit the Pentagon. Yet the government had them confiscated, releasing only one that was of such poor quality nothing could be seen. The government provided a very detailed, scientific explanation of the attack in New York, routing most all of the conspiracy theories with very legitimate explanations. In the case of the Pentagon, however, nothing near that level was approached by the government's explanation which leads me to believe something odd happened at the Pentagon, and the government knows something that the public doesn’t. Of course, the government is also poor at handling rather mundane, daily business-type tasks. To keep a cover up of this proportion and magnitude hidden would be a feat unprecedented. I don't know - wasn't the moon landing actually staged in some back lot in Hollywood?
September 9, 200818 yr These conspiracy theories are all hogwash. 9-11 was an attack on our country that took the lives of thousands of our fellow Americans. It wasn't staged by our government. End of story... And you know this for a fact because.....
September 9, 200818 yr There are alot of videos on youtube about 9/11 coincidences that do go along with some of your theories HC.
September 9, 200818 yr A government conspiracy is the easiest thing to create. Everyone wants to believe the government when it's something like this but hates the government on everything else. If you all believe the public know even a fraction of what the government is keeping back then you are way off base. They keep so many things disclosed it's not even funny. I hate to think of 9/11 as a conspiracy but there is a lot of evidence that points to it being one. We supposedly went to war with Afghanistan over the terrorists attacks but quickly, and I mean quickly left there to go fight Iraq...I mean the whole war on terror is a joke and it was just stupid.
September 9, 200818 yr I've heard many of the same theories that HC listed earlier. When you put it all together, it sure seems like there was fishy going on. However, the only thing that keeps me doubting that it was in fact a conspiracy is the fact that so many people would have had to be "in on it". Think about it...you'd have to have structural engineers involved to place the dynomite so the buildings would implode like they did. You'd have to have FAA officials that would have go along with the story that the black boxes were "destroyed". Plus you have the military personnel involved in shooting down the plane over Pennsylvania. This is just a small sampling of people that would have to have been willing participants. There is no way that so many people could keep their consciences quiet for all of these years. Someone here is using their noodle. In addition, a lot of the theories center around Bush/Cheney bashing. No way something of this magnitude gets planned in 9 months, so you have to go back to Clinton if you believe this junk. Bottom line, the magnitude of what happened was so huge, it is very hard for people to get their heads around, and in the vaccum they will grasp at whatever bits come their way. It may be doubt, but not reasonable doubt.

End of story... Hey thanks! Everyone, spe690 has put the rumors to rest:rolleyes: I mean our government could never be capable of doing anything wrong
September 9, 200818 yr I for one would not be surprised in the least if the government was involved in this in some way
September 9, 200818 yr Stupid question maybe, but I've always wondered how you play something backwards? Put the LP on the turntable, put the needle down, and hand rotate it counterclockwise. For those of you born in probably 1988 or later, LP's are "licorice pizza," or slang for a record, 33 speed or 45 speed. A turntable is what records used to be played on, and a needle was the device on the turntable that you lowered . . .

I wondered how many got Mack's "Paul is dead" quote earlier.

September 9, 200818 yr If you truly believed the government was behind 9/11 why would you stay in this country? Why would you want to live in a place where the government is capable of doing something like this to it's citizens? These theories just make me laugh that intelligent well minded people buy into this crap.
September 9, 200818 yr And you know this for a fact because... The last time I checked we were still in Afghanistan. If you think the government discloses everything, thats pretty naive...
September 9, 200818 yr I've always felt a little unsure about the way the buildings fell.... I mean, if you look at how high the impact zones of the planes were on those buildings, IMO there is no way that takes down those entire buildings, I just dont see it as possible. Also, I've heard before that jet fuel doesnt even burn hot enough to melt steel. "Melted" Steel Claim: "We have been lied to," announces the Web site AttackOnAmerica.net. "The first lie was that the load of fuel from the aircraft was the cause of structural failure. No kerosene fire can burn hot enough to melt steel." The posting is entitled "Proof Of Controlled Demolition At The WTC." FACT: Jet fuel burns at 800° to 1500°F, not hot enough to melt steel (2750°F). However, experts agree that for the towers to collapse, their steel frames didn't need to melt, they just had to lose some of their structural strength — and that required exposure to much less heat. "I have never seen melted steel in a building fire," says retired New York deputy fire chief Vincent Dunn, author of The Collapse Of Burning Buildings: A Guide To Fireground Safety. "But I've seen a lot of twisted, warped, bent and sagging steel. What happens is that the steel tries to expand at both ends, but when it can no longer expand, it sags and the surrounding concrete cracks." "Steel loses about 50 percent of its strength at 1100°F," notes senior engineer Farid Alfawak-hiri of the American Institute of Steel Construction. "And at 1800° it is probably at less than 10 percent." NIST also believes that a great deal of the spray-on fireproofing insulation was likely knocked off the steel beams that were in the path of the crashing jets, leaving the metal more vulnerable to the heat. But jet fuel wasn't the only thing burning, notes Forman Williams, a professor of engineering at the University of California, San Diego, and one of seven structural engineers and fire experts that PM consulted. He says that while the jet fuel was the catalyst for the WTC fires, the resulting inferno was intensified by the combustible material inside the buildings, including rugs, curtains, furniture and paper. NIST reports that pockets of fire hit 1832°F. "The jet fuel was the ignition source," Williams tells PM. "It burned for maybe 10 minutes, and [the towers] were still standing in 10 minutes. It was the rest of the stuff burning afterward that was responsible for the heat transfer that eventually brought them down." http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html?page=4
