My favorite is Jack Fry's, on the whole. Of course, I also really like the Rover, and the bar at Pat's. Napa River Grille has the best wine list in town, IMVHO.

Mrs. Hearsay and I ate a place down on Main (or was it Market?) earlier this year called The Mayan Gypsy and thought it was outstanding. I don't know whether they are still open or not.

The best patio lunch is still at the Azalea.

We try and eat out formally once a month for a date night, and have rarely been disappointed by Louisville's fine dining scene.

That one is closed now I think.

Other places to try:

Clifton Pizza Company: I think I actually prefer it to Wicks, but parking is a headache.

Genny's Diner: Probably the best place in Louisville to have a heart attack.

Ray Parella's: Decent Italian food, note that in PepRock's book "

decent" Italian is probably good Italian to most people. I almost never call any Italian restaurant good. My standards are just absurdly high because of my mother's Italian cooking and my former mother-in-law's Italian cooking. No restaurant can compare to those two in my experience.

Tuscany: Probably the best sauce of any Italian restaurant in town, but their meatballs are terrible! Blech!

For fish I have to recommend:

Stan's Fish Sandwich and The Fishery

If you are looking for very good, fresh bread and pasta, head over to Lotsa Pasta

I am not an Impellizari's fan really. They have changed their product mix a bunch in the last 7-8 months or so...no pizzas alike, and that's not good....

Here are some of my favorites:

Corner Cafe, Macca's, Napa River Grill, The Fishery, El Mundo, Sari Sari, Furlong's (it's coming back), Asahi Japanese Restaurant, Club Grotto, Uptown Cafe, Cafe Metro, Morton's, Rivue, Jeff Ruby's, Melillo's

I haven't tried mayn of these places, but I thought Melillo's was overrated.

Have you been to BBC yet? Bison burger with garlic fries, and some beer (my personal favorite is the Bourbon Brew)... SO good.
Nope, but I really need to.

A place to try, even though it isn't IN Louisville per-se is Rich-O's/New Albanian Brewing Company.

AWESOME PLACE!!

AWESOME PLACE!!

You mention Rich-O's, but not their wonderful, Transformer-inspired Hoptimus brew? Come on now.

Red Star Tavern on 4th street.

Macca's Seafood Grill, get the Untamed Plantain. i think that is how you spell it.

Kunz's (I think I spelled that right) downtown is good.

Did I eat at a place called Mojito's once or am I dreaming that? I think that was the name of it. They had the most awesome paella I've ever had!

I'm also a fan of Stoney River.

Raw Sushi Bar...Right next to the Seelbach on 4th Street.

Gone....is being replaced by a Z's off-shoot though.

You aren't dreaming. It has the same owners of My Havana Rumba. You're right, it's really good.
