September 10, 200818 yr Yeah, it would have been Arroyo's 15th win. Dusty said that Dickerson has a bad ankle and won't play today (obviously). He's hoping Dickerson will be able to go on Friday, when the Reds face the D'Backs & Brandon Webb. On cincinnatireds.com, I read an interesting article where Dusty said that the new guys will get to play a lot more than he did when he came up. I wonder if Dusty is bitter about when he broke into the league, and that's why he refuses to play any of the younger guys on a regular basis? They're better than Bako & Corey Patterson. CC Sabathia is nasty, but it sounds like the Reds should've won this game. Castillo got the day off today. 6 Hits in two days didn't cut it. If it weren't for two errors they do win. Oh well.
September 10, 200818 yr Reds were up 3-2 and Stormy lets up 2 in 8th and now Reds down to their last out. Stormy. I appreciate what he meant to the Reds. I just think he needs to wrap it up.
September 10, 200818 yr ^ He has been pretty solid this year. I won't argue that. Even though 0 saves in 4 opportunities and 6 losses aren't great. 3.43 era is serviceable.
September 11, 200818 yr The Brewers acquired Todd Coffey the other day. Sounds like a pretty good deal for the BrewCrew. He has about 3 years left before becoming a free agent. Think how good this year's bullpen could have been with a productive Coffey? David Weathers has GOT TO GO. We should have traded him the offseason that he was the closer. Where has Castillo been playing? If he pans out, he could be a huge addition.

September 11, 200818 yr A productive Todd Coffey... Castillo was part of the Dunn deal... Think how much better the Reds would have been with a productive Todd Coffey? He'll never get it done with a FB straighter than you can stretch dental floss. Enjoy BrewCrew.....
September 11, 200818 yr A productive Todd Coffey... Castillo was part of the Dunn deal... I know Castillo was part of the Dunn deal. I know he plays multiple positions, too. That's why I asked where he has been playing for Cincinnati.
September 11, 200818 yr I know Castillo was part of the Dunn deal. I know he plays multiple positions, too. That's why I asked where he has been playing for Cincinnati. He has played pretty much LF I believe.
September 11, 200818 yr He has played pretty much LF I believe. Thanks. I'd like to see him get some time somewhere else. Is Alonso playing for the Reds, at any level? I was somewhat hoping to see him brought up for September, but that would've been a poor decision. Still tempting, though.
September 12, 200818 yr PHILADELPHIA -- Todd Coffey was a day into his offseason, browsing at a home improvement store near his North Carolina home and gathering materials for a garage remodel, when he was called into the pennant race. And yes, Coffey has looked ahead to next week's schedule. The Brewers travel to Cincinnati next weekend for their final road series of the season. "For the first time in the many years I had been there, it seemed like you always had to look over your shoulder," Coffey said. "It was one of those things where you had to ride it out, or get lucky enough to go somewhere else. ... I'm definitely looking forward to that trip." http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080911&content_id=3458384&vkey=news_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil Is Coffey saying that coming to work everyday for the Reds was essentially torture??? He does realize he helped contribute to quite a few of the losses, right???

I was somewhat hoping to see him brought up for September, but that would've been a poor decision. Still tempting, though. I believe the minor league seasons are complete. Alonso played only six games I believe it was, down in Sarasota. In those six game he ended up bating .316 0 HR 2 RBI 5 BB .440 OBP I would guess he's going to play winter ball somewhere.
September 12, 200818 yr I heard a team put in a waiver claim on Owings and they have to wait until after the season to complete the trade. Apparently not. The trade was completed today, and Owings will be with the Reds tonight. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080912&content_id=3462501&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
