A few afterthoughts:

Cantwell played like I expected him to against UK. He looked much more relaxed and had great touch with the ball. His short passes looked much better and his deep balls were excellent as well.

Beaumont is a stud and is going to have an amazing career here at UofL.

Anderson needs more touches than Powell. I've been a pretty big Powell supporter all off season but I just don't think he has a quick enough first step. Anderson is extremely explosive and I think the 1-2 punch between him and Bolen would be perfect with Powell picking up a few reps as well.

Powell has no business returning kicks.

I miss Art-o-matic more than anyone from last years team. The kicking game really scares me right now and could be a serious liability in a close game.

Ron English for President.

I realize that Tech is a pretty weak team but UofL needed a confidence booster like this. If the offense came out and struggled against them we probably could have thrown in the towel for the season but things are definitely looking better right now and I expect them to come out extremely fired up for the Kansas State game.

Much MUCH better performance by the Cards. Not to say Tenn Tech was supposed to make a statement this game, but it looks like my hopes came to fruitition that the Cards could put something together. The defense was monsterous. The offense performed ably and the playcalling was MUCH better than it was during the UK game IMO. Brock Bolen was unleashed one game too late, but at least he started, which I had been counting on. Victor Anderson and Doug Beaumont came up with some good numbers, and are maturing at a rate that the Cardinals need right now.

Special teams made me sigh a number of time, though. They need some serious work there.

An easy win for the Cards here, exactly what they needed to get some good team chemistry and energy going. I hope to see THIS team on the field from now on.

Andrew Robinson and Beaumont for returns. I'm telling you, it would be SICK speed.

Seems like he is unsure what to do after he gets the ball.

And he's more of a bruiser back, less speed oriented. Don't get me wrong, he's quick, but he doesn't know how to use it as well as he should.

Cards look a lot better. Offense was great and defense never let them get going . I know this isnt a top 25 team but looked good for them to put the clamps down when they should.

Cards fans, your team will be just fine. Congratulations on the your big win.

Vic Anderson is a GOOD back.

Cantwell is still not "there"

Dougie is the man, the new HD 85

Ron English was a huge coaching upgrade. And I mean huge, the dude has some fire in him.

Kind of makes that goose egg Kentucky hung on the offensive unit of Louisville look even better.

Good win anyhow.....................I guess.

I know you're being sarcastic, but thank you anyway.

For the record, we all know this wasn't a "big" win...but you know...it was a big win.

Congrats to the Cards on the win. Who did they play next week?

Kansas State on September 17 (which is TRock's 21st birthday)

For those of you who may not have noticed, Jeff Brohm nestled his bottom back up in the BOX, where I feel an OC should be....things looked different from snap 1.
