Rb's sometimes do that when they get a chance to deliver a nice blow to a defensive player. It does look stupid when the play doesn't work but you would never know it from the reactions of the other players. Seems like they would rather have a big hit than a successful play. I do bet that defensive player is taking some grief from the other players on his unit.
September 5, 200818 yr Who calls the plays for Washington.... the entire second half... 3rd and 9, 3rd and 7, 3rd and 6... they throw the short route and come up 1 yard short and punt... that kinda stuff never makes sense to me. Whoever it was thought they were winning w/ a few minutes left and ran the clock out instead of hurrying up and trying to come from behind. I think Marvin Lewis may have given them their clock management course.

September 5, 200818 yr Jacobs looked good, as did Ward. I kind of wish they would have let Bradshaw get a few carries as well though. Jacobs will be an elite back in the NFL if he can stay healthy for 16 games, IMO. That's the only question mark. He could improve his pass catching ability, but he's a stud regardless. The two best hits of the night were Jacobs steamroll of Landry and Portis' chip block. This was a good win for the G-men. I don't read too much into the first couple of games of the season in the NFL, because it seems like it can sometimes take teams a couple of games to get going. So, IMO, any W's in the first couple of weeks before you hit your stride are good ones, no matter how pretty or ugly and no matter how good or bad your opponent.
September 5, 200818 yr The Giants looked like they did during the 2nd half of the SB to open the game, very impressive. I thought the defense looked solid, Tuck really applied some pressure. Washington has a bunch of work to do on the offensive side of the ball. What type of hurry up offense were they displaying down the stretch? I can see running a draw now and then, but not running 2 or 3 times in a row when you are down by two scores.

My thoughts exactly, He falls forward for two to three extra yards consistently. He is a very fast and powerful back.
