I would much rather see the actual report than to listen to Bill Bennett's assessment of it. Best I recall, Bennett himself has had an axe to grind with the media over the years.

 

CNN's people were investigating a rumor, which isn't much different than having an anonymous tip called in. Just because you don't think it's credible doesn't mean they don't have a right to check into it.

Bennett is on CNN's payroll. I saw the report live and agree with Bennett. The report was an effort to smear Palin using her 17-year old daughter's pregnancy. Youtube does not have the full video, so you can accept my account - or not. It was a low blow.

What qualifies you or anyone else to judge his journalistic credentials? Obviously, the San Francisco Examiner thought he was qualified, based on his 15 years of service as their Washington bureau chief. It wasn't like he was a gofer.

I've read many posts on here saying that the "media" has been unfair to Palin.

 

Other than the DailyKos who (I think) is the blog that started the rumor about the baby coverup has the MSM been unfair? If so , how?

I'm not saying they're not. However, I am looking for concrete examples and not generalities.

My whole issue is consistency.

Has anyone in the mainstream media looked into the Ayers connection like they did with Palin?

Has anyone looked into the Rezko relationship like they dug for Palin dirt?

 

One parting shot...the Daily Kos is the same blog that "cheered the passing" of Tony Snow.

I do not claim to be an impartial journalist and I have been as critical of John McCain as anybody who posts in this forum. I take it from your response that you have no idea what Matthews' undergraduate major was. I read several bios and none of them mentioned Matthews' major. Olbermann was a communications major.

Anybody can be a journalist if they can get a job in the field. Matthews is a political hack who went from being a political advisor to the Speaker of the House to a "journalist" for what is perhaps the most liberal major newspaper in the country. I suspect that there is a reason that Matthews does not list his college major in his biography.

However, when he saw Piper Palin lick her hand and pat down her brother's hair then, by God, he found who he was going to vote for - John McCain. Defies logic. Doesn't matter.

Good point. Do you think that most of the 90-95% of African Americans who will end up voting for Obama are doing so based on issues or do you think other "non issues related" factors come in to play in some circumstances?

I think that Hillary Clinton would probably agree with me. MSNBC has been extremely biased in Obama's favor both in the primaries and in the general campaign. McCain has received a lot of criticism on Fox, especially from Sean Hannity. The two alleged "political news anchors" on MSNBC, in contrast, get tingly feelings when they listen to Obama. :lol:
