I noticed it didn't take long to throw out this phrase last night.

 

I've read many posts on here saying that the "media" has been unfair to Palin.

 

Other than the DailyKos who (I think) is the blog that started the rumor about the baby coverup has the MSM been unfair? If so , how?

 

Is reporting that her daughter is pregant unfair?

 

Is reporting that there is an investigation into Troopergate unfair?

 

Is looking into her past comments to see if she is consistent today unfair?

 

Are talking heads not allowed to express opinions?

 

I'm not saying they're not. However, I am looking for concrete examples and not generalities.

 

Do we consider The Daily Kos blog to be mainstream? How many have actually ever been to the site?

If the Daily Kos is mainstream, then Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh's talk shows are as well IMO. I had never heard of the Daily Kos before reading about it here.

The Daily Kos has become a very popular site and recently had a convention attended by Obama, Clinton, etc. Not saying it should, but it legitamizes the Republican's claims by not denouncing them or moveon.org.

If the Daily Kos is mainstream, then Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh's talk shows are as well IMO. I had never heard of the Daily Kos before reading about it here.

 

All Fox programs and Rush's program would be mainstream.

 

A left-wing blog is hardly mainstream . If DailyKos is the only example (and I'm sure it will not be) then I think that answers my question.

Why the media should apologize.

Talking about her 17yo pregnant daughter is unfair. It has no affect on the election. If it matters, then I guess the fact that Obama is an admitted crack head should elminate him.

Though they won't actually claim anything is true, they will mention all the time "Some sources are saying that the DS baby is actually the daughters" then they will play it off, but they just throw it out there with no regard to any decent reporting.

 

There was already an investigation into troopergate, and to be honest, if the ex husband of my sister tazered the heck out of my nephew and was threatening to kill my family, I would probably try and do something about it. However, she was cleared of it.

 

Another example, they will mention that twice her husband registered with a party who has had "some" members speak out about secession for the way the Fed govt treats Alaskans, and if you look into it, it is pretty unfair. It is just how somepeople in the party felt, a small minority. They will try and link it to Palin somehow.

 

The whole, she opposed the bridge to nowhere plan, but first she supported it. Which is correct, she did support it, but it was a bridge to connect a town of 200,000 people to an airport, not a bridge to nowhere as it is referred to. Then when they found out how much it would cost, she was like no way, find some other way to connect to the airport.

 

Talking heads should express opinions with responsibility. The fact that Olberman pretty much runs MSNBC now, is a complete joke. I will no longer watch that station until he is gone. I might be ok with it if he wouldn't act like he was in the middle. If he would just own up to the fact that he may be the most liberal person on Earth.

The Washington Post even reporting that coverage of Obama is substantially more than that of McCain. Mainstream media outlets (NBC, CBS, and ABC) shape the campaign. Studies show that 80+% of those working in the media field are left leaning... whether intentional or not, some bias gets in to your work. The editor for the Atlant Journal-Constitution was at the Democratic Convention openly campaiging for Obama. McCain being denied the opportunity for an op-ed in the NYT, but giving Obama the chance to. The NYT running the front page on McCain and his alleged affair.

 

I am not saying I agree with all these claims. I think it is way overhyped. I feel the print journalism (NYT, etc.) is much worse and corrupt and in the Obama camp than NBC, ABC, and CBS.

1. I have not heard any media outlet use the "Others are reporting that its not really the daughter's baby" line. Have you?

 

2. She wasn not cleared. There is still an ongoing investigation. Should the media not mention that?

 

3. Not quite true on the Bridge issue. She was for it IF the FEDS were going to pay for it. She then found out that state money was going to be required and THEN she changed her mind. However, lets say I'm wrong on what I've read. Its still a question: was she for it or was she against it? Why should the media not report that the question is out there?

 

4. KO is a "talking head" and paid to give opinions and debate opinion makers. He's no different than Sean Hannity other than the direction they lean. However, that's irrelevant to the question.

I encourage you to visit all of these web sites. Spend a few hours reading the writings of the diarists on Daily Kos and then ponder the fact that based on the false rumor concerning the maternity of Palin's youngest child, CNN dispatched a news crew to Alaska to investigate the rumor.

I haven't read the papers yet today but I did have someone come to me and say that after Obama's speech he was "Following MLK's Dream" but today "Palin Lashes Out at Obama". Don't know if that was a local or national outlet but...

The NYT would definitely fall into the biased group.

 

MSNBC is the anit-Bush network but I would still challenge you to give examples of where they've been unfair in their news coverage with what they actually report. I'm not talking about Olbermann. He's biased.

 

We can agree that there is more coverage of the Dems. No question.

 

However, I'm still looking for the "left wing media unfair to Sarah Palin" examples.
