Russell may win, but I doubt that it'll be a blow out. This was a pretty close game last year and Boyd County is far better on run defense. Tyler Jones was the deference last year. As good as Russell is looking right now, they don't have a Tyler type player, or at least not that I've heard about. I'm looking foward to this game, it will let us know where both teams are right now and where they may go.

I will take Russell by about two touchdowns at least.

Boyd's better than a lot of you are giving them by some of these lopsided predictions. I say Russell wins in a dogfight. Boyd will have to win the turnover battle to win this game. I seen both their scrimmages with Belfry and Wayne,W.Va. Their first team more than held their own with both teams. If Boyd's offense can control the time of possession they have a chance.

I look for Russell to win but I think it will be a good close game. Boyd has been known as a team that can beat Russell. A fumble here an interception there and who knows.

I saw both scrimmages as well and Boyd did alright, but it's hard to tell where a team is out when you take out turnovers, change of possession, special teams etc. It was the opinion in my section of the bleachers at Belfry that Boyd's biggest weakness this year would be the D-line, which will spell disaster against a team like Russell. I hope I'm wrong though! Go Lions!

As several have stated above, BC is one of those teams which seem to have Russell's number from time to time. I recall the state championship year for RHS in '05 when BC was the only blemish on the red devil record. That year, the game was at Boyd when the Lions won 33 - 14. BC oft times has the size to push Russell around when needed.

I totally disagree about Boyd's defensive line. I thought their 2 starting defensive tackles are their best position. One of their defensive end positions need to get better.
