I'm glad Bristol is keeping her baby, but I would never let my 17 year old daughter get married because she was pregnant. I would want them to wait until they were at least a little older. I think marrying simply because one's pregnant is a mistake.

The information is out there for anyone to get. It's newsworthy enough to make a New York Times article, why can't it be posted on Bluegrasspreps?

It's not gossip. It's truth. And, it is significant in this case, because the Uber-cons have been beating the "family values" drum.

I don't know any 17 year olds read, and a pregnant 17 year old is facing a scary, SCARY path. Even with great family support, it's a tough row to hoe. A marriage begun under such stressful conditions at such a young age is not wise, IMO.

The "uber-cons" aren't relevant in this case, since McCain is the antithesis of an "uber-con."

Real nice......slammming the underage child of a candidate . Don't say "just reporting the news", imo everyone knows what was going on and why. Should someone (press or whoever) want to bash one of the candidates then that is fine. Seems to me they would leave the kids out of it, guess not. :sleep:

 

This confirms my vote against Obama even more (if possible). I hope that somehow that some undecided voters look at this in the same way.

First of all, Bristol is keeping the baby and stated she wants to marry the father. The article didn't state she was getting married today. I think this is a personal family affair. What parent would want to see this happen to their child (male or female)? This isn't the first teenager in the world to have a baby and not be married.
