I believe Miller is going to be the best player in the region this year. Ive been very impressed by him. I also really like Madison Johnson. I think hes going to have a great year. And Shawnta Zachary deserves a top 10 ranking as well.

I think the crowds would be better and all the region teams could get a share of the gate with more income regardless if your team makes the tournament or not. I think many schools would vote in favor of a neutral site like they have in the 15th. Plus the winner would get the feel of an arena type setting which would only help them in the Sweet 16. I for one would just appreciate being able to get a chairback seat and a place to park. I would attend every session if this were the case. As it stands now, I only fight the crowds to support my school of choice.

Chances are they won't get into the top ten but they are all players who are up and coming. Maybe one of the six can or one from each school, but it would take great season by them and their teams.

 

I think the real question is not who is the top ten but who is the best, and to me it comes down to three players:

 

1. Madison Johnson

2. Josh Crawford

3. Cody Miller

 

And the scarey thing is that two of them come from the same team.

I dissagree..being in the top ten even as a 5-10 is a pride boost for a player..it shows he or she has worked hard and those extra hours in the gym has showed off and got them noticed

This wouldn't be a home court advantage for anyone, other than Corbin. Corbin would be able to practice on that floor anytime that they wanted. They are already a powerhouse in the region, now we are talking about giving them a permanent homecourt advantage every year. Seems like that might make it difficult on the other teams in the region.

I wouldn't think Corbin could practice anytime they wanted to in this arena. Its my understanding many various events will take place there and the floor, goals, etc. would have to be put into place to have basketball played there.

I would never like to see it on neutral floors. That is what HS b-ball is all about having them in HS gyms crowded and loud. Their is no way you could match that atmosphere with a large arena. I have been to 1 round of the 15th region in the expo center and it was less than a desirable atomosphere for tournment play.

I know everyone here is looking forward to the regional at HCHS in 2013.

I always thought the LMU gym would be a great place for a regional, even though it's a mile into Tennessee.

I'm looking forward to having HELP from other papers when the region is at Harlan in 2013.

I thought I planned pretty far ahead, but I hadn't thought about coverage yet. I should be able to get you in the hospitality room.

Why would you think that it would take away from high school basketball to play this on a neutrel floor. Best thing to ever happen in the 15th region and everyone that is involved in the thing, makes money, better for the fans, gets the kids ready that will be going to the state tournement, and the overall basketball experiece. I have heard several of the contending coaches say that this would be a wonderful idea and yes it would be. As far as it being a homecourt for Corbin this is so ludiccruis the civic center will not be Corbin high Schools and as it was stated earlier the floor for basketball will only be down for games. Lets all get on the bandwagon and bring this tournement to the best place for everone involved, they play on neutrel floors in other regions all over the state and why would it have to be at the new center what about Cumberland College.

Cumberland College can only hold about 2500 people and parking is limited.

I agree with having the region at the civic center in Corbin. This would be great for the area and you wouldn't have to split the sessions and go through that mess. I have to disagree when it comes to the top ten players though. I think at least 3 or 4 players are ahead of Crawford.

Crawford is still the #1 player in the region in my opinion. He may not be a big time scorer, but he does all the things that help a team win.

 

The gyms in the 13th Region are too small and parking is a complete mess.............a bigger venue is needed.
