October 12, 200817 yr Diaw moved to Houston Texas after the AAU Nationals.Looks like a team in Houston is getting ready to improve in a big way. That is unfortunate for Ky middle school basketball. He's a good kid. I wish him the best of luck in the Lone Star State.

I wish him the best of luck in the Lone Star State. Yes, I agree, Mustafa is a great kid. I know I was surprised to hear he was leaving. Royal Spring and Scott County would have battled all season with Diaw in the lineup. Portwood will be a big mismatch now.

I know they have 2 guards that played up last year on the 7th grade squad and a couple of other kids who only played AAU with the Scott County Wolfpack. I would think that would be enough to compete in the Bluegrass Conference, but not so sure about the state level.
October 13, 200817 yr Author They(Scott County) will have the football coaches son (6th grade)Scott Co Wolfpack, another big mobie kid with a good touch that I have seen play AAU, a Martini kid who is a solid guard, and the Wolfpack coach's son who is also a 6th grader. I am sure there are more but these 4 kids with Portwood would be very good and they would be huge. I would say Scott is the 7th and 8th grade favorite.

October 14, 200817 yr Where is this Royal Spring you speak of? What high school does it feed? Sandman, Royal Spring is in Georgetown and is a newer school. It is a very nice school. Georgetown has 3 middle schools feeding into Scott Co HS. Rainman can give you all the info you need on this school system. :thumb:
October 14, 200817 yr Let's start up the debate about why there isn't a middle school hoops league that encompasses all of Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. To me it would make great sense and opportunity for 7th and 8th grade to be across all of NKY. I don't think there has ever been an all encompassing league, at least I don't remember one.:fight:
