October 16, 200817 yr Only 15 boys at the Highlands 8th grade tryout yesterday which is surprising. I know its a football school but there are a few kids that arent playing that should IMO. Alot of overall team speed and athleticism. My guess is there will be a lot of pressing and transition in the year coming up for the Birds.

October 16, 200817 yr Is #80's kid playing this year? Yes, Jack is playing and he has grown about 4 inches. I would say he is around 5'11 and built just like #80 so Im guessing he will keep growing. He has a lot of upside as a lockdown defender and goes strong to the basket but the entire squad will be re-focusing on fundamentals. Coach Vories is a teacher of the game and he will teach the kids things these kids havent seen in their 7 yrs of playing. Defensive positioning, staying low, moving without the ball, dribbling, dribbling, dribbling, uh did I say dribbling.

Looking for a couple more teams if you know of any NKY teams interested. I am trying to get in touch with someone at St. Marys as they always bring a nice crowd and are very competetive.
October 20, 200817 yr St. Mary's does have a pretty good team. Summit faced them in the finals of their Christmas tourney last year.
October 20, 200817 yr Author Clinton County opens agaist Monticello on Monday night and plays Metcalfe County Tuesday night. I am ready to go! Alot of our kids will play up this season so we will probably not be as strong as last season, but we still should be competitive with anyone.

Not sure of the validity to this rumor, but St. Mary's 8th grade team will be playing in the NKMSBL. Has anyone heard that or does anyone know if that is truth?

October 21, 200817 yr When is your tournament? Nov 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th wiwth finals on 15th. Might be a long trip for the boys from SL.
