October 6, 200817 yr Lexington Catholic 8th grade Tournament December 6, 2008 Beuter Gym at Lexington Catholic High School Each team will play three games. The first two will be against the other teams in your pool and the last game will be matched against the team in the other pool with the same seed. If a tiebreaker is needed to determine seeding for the last game, head to head would used first followed by point differential. Pool A – Lexington Catholic, Mason County, North Oldham Pool B – Knox County, Scott County, Sebastian 10:00 – Lexington Catholic vs. North Oldham 11:15 – Scott County vs. Sebastian 12:30 – Mason County vs. Lexington Catholic 1:45 - Knox County vs. Scott County 3:00 - Mason County vs. North Oldham 4:15 - Knox County vs. Sebastian 5:30 - 3 seed (Pool A) vs. 3 seed (Pool B) 6:45 – 2 seed (Pool A) vs. 2 seed (Pool B) 8:00 – 1 seed (Pool A) vs. 1 seed (Pool B) I'm disappointed! I had heard Lincoln County was playing in this tournament, and was hoping we would get to play Scott County. Wonder what happened???:confused:
October 6, 200817 yr Lincoln should be good 6-8. Meece tried to get them scheduled this year but Lincoln declined saying they were in a conference. I was really looking forward to playing them again this year because of the competition they offer. Russell Co. also declined to play Meece saying they were in a conference. :confused: What does that mean? We have always been "in a conference" and have played Meece before! I was looking forward to doing so again this year, because we usually have no competition within our conference (Salt River). How do you get better when you don't play good teams?????:irked:

Wonder what happened???:confused: Yep, that was the team I originally heard as well. Not sure what happened, but it would have been good to play Lincoln County. You guys have some solid 8th graders, but like you said if you don't play anybody it's hard to get better.

And it's only a 30 minute drive between schools. Good competition that close to each other should be playing!!

I assume that most 8th gr. coaches do their own scheduling also. That's why I simply don't understand not scheduling the teams that you'll be challenged by. Frankly, that will do nothing but hurt them in the long run. IMO, if you take a loss to a better team, there's much to be gained from that. Good luck to all the teams, I'm looking forward to once again seeing the 8th grade state tourney at the KBA.

October 7, 200817 yr Lincoln should be good 6-8. Meece tried to get them scheduled this year but Lincoln declined saying they were in a conference. I was really looking forward to playing them again this year because of the competition they offer. Russell Co. also declined to play Meece saying they were in a conference. :confused: Russell plays 18-20 conference games and I was told by someone that Coach Feldhaus wants them to play the district teams as well (Clinton, Cumberland, Metcalfe). I believe they are playing 2 8th grade games at Mercer County again this year as well. That's 28 games. I would've liked for them to play Meece or Wayne or Lincoln but that is alot of games and I guess nothing could get worked out. I've also heard their best player is moving up to JV as well. They should still be pretty good but Robertson is, without a doubt, one of the better players in the state. He had a great State Tournament last year.
October 8, 200817 yr Author I wouldn't consider Lincoln and Scott as eastern Kentucky teams but both will be outstanding.
