October 8, 200817 yr I love it, lets get this party started SouthernKYhoops. I think you are pretty much right on the mark with the teams you mentioned. Scott Co was unbelievable last season as 7th graders. Im sure Lincoln, Wayne, Somerset, Knox, Christian and Russell will all be strong along with the Louisville and Lexington schools. Scott Co I would assume though might move Richardson up to play Frosh ball or JV as he is that good. Up in NKY, I would say that the Holmes 8th graders will be very tough. Campbell Co led by McGovney team will be good and if the Highlands boys grow and get some fire they will form a nice team. Already noticing some of the boys shooting up a little plus they will be in a better situation as far as coaching goes with Mike Vories. Pendleton Co will probably slack off due to Monroe moving up and playing JV next year. They also lost their beef in the middle in Smith who transferred to Highlands. Gray Middle should have a nice 8th grade team. I wouldn't count PC out of the mix. With Monroe going up to JV it will be a chance for the 8th graders to make there game better. We all know it will be hard, since he is leaving but PC still has a solid team. They might not win every game as they have the previous two years (Except for Summit View and Holmes in the Division Finals) but they will not have a losing record. As for PC's 7th grade team, last year was sort of rocky. This year I think they will be better since they played a lot over the summer. Has any one heard when PC tryouts are? :confused:
October 8, 200817 yr Belfry Middle School is currently looking for teams wanting to play our conference teams in a 7th grade scrimmage and 8th grade scrimmage at our Pan-o-rama on Nov 22 at Belfry Middle School. Because of travel cost if you would like to play 2-3 games at each grade level we can accommodate that also. Teams in the conference are - Belfry Johnson Central Louisa Magoffin Co. Martin Co. Paintsville Pikeville IMHO, 3-4 of those teams should be as good as anyone in the state. If enough teams are interested we will use 3 gyms all located within 2 miles of each other. Format will be 10 min. warm up, 2 - 20 min. halves, and 5 min. half time. score will be wiped clean at end of first half, clock stopping last minute of 2nd half. October 8, 200817 yr you sure about that Q? (figured I'd stir up some stuff in NKY since no one else is)! Im just ready for some B-Ball. Boys have been doing some open gym stuff but nothing too organized. Football is king here in Caketown so gotta wait for that to end. Birds are hosting a Tipoff tourney on Nov 10th. I need to find out what teams have confirmed hopefully Summit is on there.

October 9, 200817 yr It'd be nice if Summit was there. I'd like to see Gray and Tichenor again. Conner didn't have a bad team either from the Boone schools. Side bar here...word has it that Mcclendon might be moved up also to JV. Don't quote me, just what I have heard around.

October 9, 200817 yr I think that you will see several eighth graders who have been very successful on the AAU circuit and would be difference makers for an 8th grade team who will suit up for their respective JV and or Freshman teams. :thumb:
