Someone needs to invent a device, that would automatically roll down the windows of a vehicle, if detected a child is in a restraint seat and a certain temperature index has been reached.

Oh that poor sweet baby. My Cecilia is 11 months old and the thought of her being locked in a blazing hot car is almost too much to bear...:cry::cry:

I saw this on the news last night.....How do you not know a child is in the car with you? Are my kids the only kids that make noise. Mine are so loud, they jabber, sing you name it. Even if they are asleep...I see them in my rear view mirror. It makes me sick to know that poor baby suffered.

Terrible story, I agree with others in that I don't see how a person can forget a baby in a vehicle. Just a sad, sad story and one that there is no excuse for.

Good idea. The technology already exists and is used in the form of a sensor under the passenger seat in late model cars. The sensor determines the weight of a passenger and adjusts the air bag deployment force to what is required to protect a child or an adult. This could easily be modified to be used in the back seat and programmed to blow the horn and flash the lights whenever it senses a predetermined weight left on that seat when the vehicle is turned off and locked.

You get the patent and I'll take just a small cut. :sssh:

Sounds good, partner. Seems some transmitter, could be utilized or connected that would alert, if a child remained in a seat.

It makes me so sick. Could you imagine her not understanding where her mama was and why she was not coming to the car? How hot she was....she probably was thristy and had a headache....poor, poor baby.

:( That is all I kept thinking about.....how sad she probably was, and hurting and feeling helpless. God love her. Breaks my heart.

The more I think about it, the better it sounds. What if the sensor were attached to an external speaker that announced to all in the area "Possible child left in vehicle. Possible child left in vehicle." over and over. We could use the same voice that they use at Lowes Home Improvement. You know, the "Customer needs assistance in the plumbing section" voice.

Our society today has created parents who are so stressed out and I think the lady was in a situation where her ritual was broken and simply wasnt even thinking straight.

I think they said that she normally drops both kids off at same daycare but this day she was taking son and girl to a different one.

Its horrible, it made me sick to my stomach. 29 deaths this year in this country so far due to this same issue.

The lady will have to greive the rest of her life over this. The anguish is enough.

How sad that we have become such a preoccupied society that we would have to even consider such a thing.

For the life of me, I dont understand how these things happen...and happen so often.

If could even be tied into, the vehicles alarm system, where light flash or like you say, omits a verbal warning.

Agreed but if the technology saves one live, then it's well worth it. Given the frequency of occurrence, there must be several parents who loose focus, for whatever reason.

Does anyone know what is happening to this woman?
