Unless your a poor college student I couldn't agree more. I remember back in college about 13 years ago, our local Hucks had Old MIl. for 5.99 a case. Me and my roommate did not have much money so bought it and drank it. The next morning or should I say afternoon was not pretty.

 

In my college days, it was Falls City for $5.25 a case. You had to sign a release agreement that you wouldnt sue after you drank it, :laugh::laugh:!!

I am not a poor college student anymore and I still like my Natty Light.

My girlfriend is bad about buying cheap liquour. It's just not worth it. She'll buy some rock gut whiskey and mix it with coke all night. I'm trying to break her of it but shes putting up a good fight.

 

If you're drinking liquour there's no reason to ruin it with a mixer. Buy something top shelf and pour it over ice. It doesn't get any better.

 

I'll give a little with beer. I don't mind bud or miller. I've had one PBR and one Natural Light in my life and hated them both. I'm not much of a beer drinker though. Never have been. I never have just a beer or two with my meals. If I've got a beer or any type of drink in my hand, it's with one purpose in mind....

I am normally to cheap to buy any beer that rounds out to over .50 cents a beer (:lol:) but I am breaking out of my shell.

 

Last night, I had Shock Top (Anheiser-Busch, but Belgian-style) which is excellent. I also grabbed Amberbock and wasn't too impressed.

It's the classic argument, do you drink for taste or drink to 'feel good'?

It pains me to see beer, any beer, bashed in such a way. Even bad beer needs love.

If you're drinking to get drunk then I can't imagine why you would drink beer. Hard liquor gets the job done faster and with less excess stuff. It's inefficient to drink to get drunk otherwise.

 

Thing is though, I have awasy been a pragmatist, so my views wil be diametrically different from most college types.

But, if you must have beer, the better beers (grades above Bud/Miller/Coors) tend to have higher alcohol content, so you're getting better taste and getting to the finish line quicker.

For what it's worth, it should be noted that PepRock is just a straight up snob about his alcohol and movies.

The mixed drink comes with the stigma of being girly, and a lot of college kids have a problem drinking straight liquor. I have never had that problem- is that a good or bad thing? :lol:

 

The only real reason to drink cheap beer over cheap liquor is for drinking games, because those can get very dangerous if you attempt to play them with the hard stuff

My buddy loves drinking PBR and STrohs over at a little hole in the wall in Newport. The owner buys like 2 cases a month of Strohs and he is the only one that buys it. Horrible BEER.

 

PBR is sweet with a bad aftertaste. I like Coors light cuz its from the Rockies.

Only time I ever tried mixed drinks was when I was already drunk at my own bachelor party. The end result told me all I needed to know about doing it again!

 

Frankly they just need to adjust. :lol:
