August 17, 200818 yr Throughout my drinking career, I've seen a lot of crazy things. But few things leave me scratching my head the way I do when I see some hipster crack open a crap beer and try to act like it tastes good. Sorry, dude, your self-perceived coolness doesn't make that PBR, Christian Morlein, Natty Light, Old Style or Red White and Blue taste good. Do you still feel cool the next morning when you're sitting on the toilet seat with a raging hangover because your insides are disagreeing with the war you waged on them with crummy beer last night?

I love it! Although to be honest with you I kind of think that when I see peope drinking: Bud Anything, Miller Anything, Coors Anything.

Hilarious, Jim! Unfortunately, some of us have to make an economical assessment and choose Miller Lite over that of the better quality brews.

August 17, 200818 yr C'mon now, blazing hot day, big lawn mowed in the sun, nothing tastes as good as an ice cold Coors hitting the back of the throat. Dad used to fly a case in the nose cone of his F-8 to the base in Pensacola back in the day when they didn't sell it east of the Mississippi, so there are probably some memory flavors in there for me.

I'll take regular water before I take yellow water. Although I can understand your perspective after reading the second paragraph.
August 17, 200818 yr I'd rather drink less and drink quality. You know, some days are like that. On the other hand, most are about the effect than the taste. Just different schools of thought, I suppose.

August 17, 200818 yr Author In a perfect world, I would never opt for Bud/Miller/Coors, but I'll cop to drinking Bud Light as a low-cost option. But you've gotta admit B/M/C is a significant grade up from the ones I mentioned in the initial post. Heck, even Milwaukee's Best or Busch Light is an upgrade from those awful heartburn-makers.
August 17, 200818 yr If I am drinking for effect I go with hard liquor, no excess stuff to get in the way. Well, that's a different story. When I've got a stomach full of Bourbon, there is a good chance I'm getting thrown out of whatever establishment I may be in.

In fact, we put in a pretty nice Oktoberfest today that should be ready around Halloween.

Well as much as I hate to admit it, you're right. But that is like saying I'd rather be hit by a bus than a train. Well, that's a different story. When I've got a stomach full of Bourbon, there is a good chance I'm getting thrown out of whatever establishment I may be in. Pep's experiences with bourbon have been better, except for one night that he won't be talking about. :walk: Don't get me wrong, both Dad and I, now brew our own. In fact, we put in a pretty nice Oktoberfest today that should be ready around Halloween. Now THAT I can bet behind.
August 17, 200818 yr For what it's worth, it should be noted that PepRock is just a straight up snob about his alcohol and movies.
August 17, 200818 yr I will agree with you about Natty's and Old Style, but I don't mind an occasional PBR. Keep in mind occasional...never more than 2 PBR's in one sitting. My go to "cheap beer" has always been Miller High Life; best taste for the price, IMO. I'd rather have my Hofbrau Original than anything though. But hey, even if the "hipsters" are drinking Natty, at least they aren't drinking this...

Unless your a poor college student I couldn't agree more. I remember back in college about 13 years ago, our local Hucks had Old MIl. for 5.99 a case. Me and my roommate did not have much money so bought it and drank it. The next morning or should I say afternoon was not pretty.
