If you do not buy them at the new price they will bring them back down. They know we are weak and will pay whatever they charge for the most part.

Our country started off fine 6-8 years ago, but the last 4 we have gone backwards.

This has everything to do with raising the minimum wage and energy costs. We can thank this to the democrats!

Oh No No my friend, please let me be the first to say it for everyone - well everyone except me ------ It's Bill Clinton's fault. Now I've relieved the pressure off of anyone who wanted to say it:thumb::D

I used to run a restaurant, and your statement has elements of truth but misses the real culprit.

FOOD COST is the problem. Only stores in economically depressed areas could even consider paying the former minimum wage to employees not making tips, raising the minimum wage was fought by the restaurant industry but the actual effect is exaggerated.

Food cost is certainly effected by energy cost but biggest strain is actually the rise in corn prices. Corn being used for ethanol instead of feed grain raised the price of feed thus raising the price of cattle and other food goods, like those things that use corn syrup (EVERYTHING uses corn syrup).

For those who are so very frustrated at the restaurants raising prices, let me inform you that almost NO industry eats cost increases as much as the restaurant industry.

An honest to god example. One day liquid eggs cost me about $19.00 a case the next week that same case of liquid eggs cost me about $30.00 a case. A month after that liquid eggs cost me $24.00. How many times do you think I changed the price of eggs at my store? NOT ONCE.

Every week prices from my supplier changed to reflect the market value, yet as a restaurant operator I changed prices at most twice a year because you can't change your prices daily and expect to have a customer base.

Wendy's has been selling this food for a 1$ for years, the cost of the food has at times and in cases has almost doubled yet you want them to continue selling it for the same price. It is absurd to be upset with the company for not giving away food.

And as far as the question why go from $.99 to $1.19 skipping $1.09, the reason for that market research has shown that customers (and this is speaking generally) don't recognize the difference between the two prices when making a purchasing decision. In other words people seem to view 1.19 as just over one dollar the same as they view 1.09, so as a businessman why not get that dime from the customer.

Hess has the only gas that I know of that has less than 10% ethanol in it. Most others are at least 10% ethanol.

It made me so mad that they shrunk the Jr. Bacons, I haven't been back since, almost 2 years. I've also noticed that different Wendy's across the state charge differently for their old .99 menu. Nuggets have been $1.19 in Rockcastle County for a while now.

It's the suits' fault

It has been that way for a while.. but my understanding on the E-85 is it's 85% ethanol. Haven't seen a true or pump labeled E-85 in the tri-state area yet.
