Yeah, but I know the kid deserves some of the blame for not understanding his place right now. Take a contract, prove yourself and you will get your money.

I know this kid isn't the first, nor the last to do something like this. Still frustrating from both sides of the argument.

OR was this a good move by the Reds? From what I'm reading, they'll be compensated with another high pick next year to go along with what will assuredly be another Top 10 pick, giving them 2 Top 10 picks next year.

 

Not when you didn't even have a 2 pick this year.

 

The MLB needs to put a stop to the way the draft works. Hopefully, they'll take notice with so many issues this year of players demanding such large amounts of money along with major league contracts.

I have not paid attention to MLB for 20 years other than watching an occassional game and checking the standings.

By signing the major league contract, how is this different than the contract the Reds want him to sign?
